Kallis has always been a gentleman and a very good cricketer.   After he failed badly in teh three SriLanka OFI's he said that although he set his heart on playing in the WV next year - he realizes that that objective is not achievable - so he decided to retire from all forms of international cricket.

No doubt one of the greatest cricketers ever and respected thorughout the world.  I think our best wishes go with him.

This opens up the way fro siome other really impreesive players coming through and the future looks vright for South African Cricket.   Pity the same cannot be said for rugby and soccer.

It is a pity that some other players do not realize that they are detrimental to their team by staying on - especially some rugby players.

Ag don't worry OOm. I'm sure Victor  intends to retire younger than Kallis....with that constraint he has another 20 months which will take him nicely through RWC15.
Do you always shoot yourself in the same foot, or do you alternate? Waaaaaaahahaha.

That slapgat fool - who cannot compete physically - will embarrass SA worse than Kallis performed in his last three ODI innings.   You are a bloody fool living in the past and forgettng about the present.   Waaaaaaahahaha.

A pity about his last few games but will go down as one of the greats. Brought me plenty of pleasure over the years when he was playing teams other than Australia. (That comment was regarding Kallis, not Victor.)

Not to worry - Victor will help Australia massively in the CR - so stick to Kallis in this case.

Glad Kallis has now retired, he is past it......if only the likes of Matfield and co would do the same.

Kallis has to be one of the best 3 cricketers to have ever played the game
