It will be an absolute disgrace if Meyer selet Kirchner at fuill back in the forthcoming test.   After being -

*    the worst full back in all teams in Super 16; and

*    his abysmal display on Saturday, when he came off the bench,

his selection will be the joke in bad taste of the year.

Question is - Meyer said he wanted to see what he can do on the field of play after his lengthy  injury-enforced absnece  There is really only one question to ask about his performance and that is - "Could he have been worst than he was on Saturday?"

The answer is really no - that would not be pssible.   I looked a his stats on Saturday and the answer really is no.   He buggered up badly with the first theee balls he had to contend with and that trent continued throughout the game.   He was ratedby Foxsport - giving him ZERO POINTS.   That means that what he did negatively was equalled out by a point given to him for being on the field of play  and for the  rest he was a joke,

I agree, i don't understand exactly why Kirchner is still considered test match material, De Jongh also comes to mind. Kirchner is a terrible counter attacking fullback, its a lack of effort there or gameplan could be a factor in his playstyle but i doubt it. I can recall miss tackle Kirchner made on Ranger that lead to a blues try, bad effort. At these circumstances we can't afford to have him included particularly at test level, Meyer gave him too many chances. In one of Meyers recent statements he said he believes Le Roux can play fullback he also mentioned he wants 1 or 2 new players a chance to come off the bench, so theres a slight chance Le Roux is not in the starting 15 at fullback. I suggested the best option at fullback is Le Roux or Aplon a while back when it became obvious, hopefully the right decision is made. If Le Roux is in the starting 15, he will still need to adjust at the higher level. To a degree we must not think that certain players will perform the same in a different team, some players is more suitable for different gameplans, Lambie for instance was a example of that last year. Morne should be in the Starting 15 for the reason being is he can adjust to both a running oriented playstyle and a tactial playstyle which we've seen this year, goal kicking isn't a issue as well.
