What do you think hakwa. You cant top that one boet!  Just wait till Du Toit fills out. Man I think ou mcaaaaw should extend his sabbatical indefinitely! Dan must be extremely careful he is not simply run over and falttened beyond repair.

Question is should the likes of Etzebeth be allowed to play rugby? It just aint fair!

I prefer this one.....the man is a freak. He needs to take Steph du Toit under his wing and get him muscled up like he is

We're not too worried about steroid poppers like Spies and Etzebeth. It's all show and no real substance. Watch this weekend to see real men like Ali Williams and Steve Luatua giving this overrated Yarpie drug cheat a proper thrashing.

Ali Williams is a washed up hasbeen. Luatua has made such an impression on me, I dont even know who he is. Etzebeth is the best lock in the game, by some distance

Retallick could not make anyone his bitch. Look the guy is solid enough but will always live in Etzebeth's shadow. There are sometimes tough calls when comparing players......Etzebeth versus any opponent is never going to be the case. Etzebeth is the best enforcer in the game right now aged 21, hell knows what he will be like by the time he is 25

No doubt Etzebeth has the goods, but can't really recall anything extraordinary that he's done in matches other than SA fans on this site almost worshipping at his feet everytime his name sees print....Beeno is almost like his cyber girlfriend, groupie. He may be the best enforcer in the SA game because that's how SA fans have built him up, in NZ I doubt he is viewed other than a talented lock and at his age Ali Williams was a far more skillful player, though agree that his best years are behind him. Retallick haven't made my mind up about him yet......

Great picture Snapster. Yep with the likes of Bissie, Beast , Coenie, Du Toit and Etzebeth its a fearsome tight five. Add in Elstadt/Arno Botha, Vermuelen and Deon Fourie and we are set to rule world rugby for years to come.

Did anyone mention retardlick?

Ka mate your jealousy is resulting in uncalled for remarks.  abs fans going green

So Poly, what skill set did Ali have at 21, that Etzebeth does not have? I'll tell you what, sweet stuff all. The difference being that Etzebeth at the same age is a physical freak, something Ali never was.

Saffex, was not deriding Etzebeth I just don't think he's the second coming of Colin Meads like you SA fans seem to think he is. Ali Williams in his prime was a lock forward with the skills of a back. He played both a tight and open game and was exceptionally good at both, in fact at his prime he rivaled Matfield as the best lock in the world but it was his open support play which I think put him above Matfield. I remember one test against the BoksI think where AB's put 50+ points on the Boks where the SA comentators were dribbling about the AB forward skillset vs their Bok counterparts. Etzebeth is a physical specimen but gym bodies and rugby bodies are 2 different things ask Pierre Spies, he may very well produce the goods but all I'm saying is that internationally so far he hasn't done anything exceptional....and I don't mind being proved wrong about it either.

Moola so are you saying that Etzebeth does not run with ball in hand, does not have a massive work rate, does not put in big hits, does not clear out rucks, does not take his share of line-out ball and is not a massive asset in the engine room?

Look Ali was a handy player in his day, but not even close to what Etzebeth is already. Etzebteh has taken lock play to another level. He is twice the player Ali was at the same age and will go down as the best lock to ever play the game. The guy is already the best lock in the game.

One saw all his skills as early as his games for the Baby Boks two years ago. He is alot more than a physical freak believe you me.

Hes a fine physical speciman but stilll a bit young and dumb I think... Maybe not as dumb as greyling... but easily baited still as per Sharpy last year... He could well develop into a awesome lock but for current best cant go past Horwill in my books got the whole package leadership aggression physciality size... As much as pains me to add I think Romano from Cruds is actually looking world class too. Tahs' Timani is probably the biggest lock running around the S15 he is a giant but one thing about these young islander boys is that they seem to not really unleash their best until about 25yo+... its almost like they dont realise how big they are... once they've got a few seasons under their belt look out!  Anyway be good to see stormers and sharks in ACT and QLD following weekend REds looking to avenge kaplans / sharks victory last season...

Hakwa I have to appweal to you not to do anything hasty. Please do not post these pics on any nz website as we dont want panic and national hysteria in nz!!  I mention this because I know all about how insensitive you are in posting questionable pictures on our website.

It appears from the above comments that the kiws are all a twitter about Eben. Even Redsman is tryiing to find some solace in suggesting ou Horwill is a better lock. Hahahhahahaha - please oaks Eben and some other youngsters coming along are your worst nightmares.

Oh sorry Hakwa another reason is we dont want even more kiwi women bothering us.

snapster thanks fo rputting th ekiwis right on a lot of issues. However i ask you to carefully consider the differences between a real lock like Etzebeth at some 123 kg and a show pony like ee matifeild who said hsi best palying weight was between 106 and 108 kg.

Pleeeease snapster think before posting again.

Thanks

PS - I have noted that the kiwis loved ou victor and thought he was great - or so they keep telling us. They would love us to field locks like victor but not Eben! Bwahahahahhaha these kiwis lack any subtlelty!!

Beeno - finding no difficulty in reading the naieve kiwis.

Saffex "Etzebeth has taken lock play to a another level".....How and When and who against. Next he'll be walking on water. He still has a way to go to be considered the best...and sorry but have you seen Ali Williams in his prime...if so you would not have made an unsubstantiated assessment of him. And Beeno didn't love Matfield, but respected him as a player, if you don't respect your own players a player your selectors believe in and at the time the international rugby fraternity agreed was the best in the world, it is you being naïve...and throws into question your actual rugby knowledge.

Poly damn right I saw Ali play, he was good, but Etzebeth at the same age is far better - its not even close. I am not going to sit and mention specific tests, lets just take the next one he plays and comment then.

Red Horwill over Etzebeth, you have to be kidding......that is a laugh. Horwill is good, dont get me wrong......but no-one has an Etzebeth

Fine looking spiciemens there beano! Lets hope they kick the other saffa trait (or have a kiwi father) and actually have some fucking brains! That Etzebeth I think could be a bit of a hot head like ol bakkies and prove to be a bit of a liability when the goin gets tough (i'e playing the blackness)!!! But jokes asside I'm not really sure what is new here really Beano, saffa's have always bred good locks.

Matfield was the best line-out lock ever, but in other areas of the game there were/are better locks. Etzebeth is the complete package, still a little rough around the edges, but what 21 year old is not? Bar injuries he will go down as a great!

Just FYI, I know Matfield and Etzebeth don't play the same position....before some smart arse tries to get clever.

Thanks for the info Hakwa. I thought your picture just above of the abs the best yet.  never wil the yrun faster than when running t oavoid Etzebeth. Hahahahhahahahaha

Etzebeth is more than merely good abnob.  Like to have had him and Bakkies as our locks. Eina!  Hoping though that as Du Toit grows up he will be another enforcer lock - one needs two enforcer locks not one. It would appear that both Eztzebeth and especially Du Toit are reasonably mobile.

This warped idea that one needs one enforcer and one pap lightweight lock aspiring to be a backline player is a load of complete rubbish and must be ditched forever.

Beeno, didn't say Matfield was the best ever, but in his prime was rated best in the world, best lock EVER goes to Colin Meads. SA fans are so in love with Etzebeth that this thread has become pointless. all "you say I say" But I do hope he develops into as good a player as his potential suggests.
