Reid must be the stand out player this season, he really is the real boss. You don't need Richie , Reid is the guy to lead you. I think Richie will be exposed more and more and the refs will sooner or later relent to the pressure and ping him more frequently, his days of living on the edge are numbered.

Yes Reid has stepped up rather well hasnt he ? It will take some of the weight off Maccaws shoulders too .Its what the Aussies are missing ,Horwill is a bit wishy washy And Pocock is a great player but I dont know about Captain material .A captain needs some presence and a bit of gravitas and no nonsense mien helps too !
He is a great leader , but might find himself dwarfed in ability by a more confident Bok. Can't allow you kiwis to think your all perfect.

Dont write Richie off too early, lol. We all get older but he has a few more games in him yet, llol my workouts ground to a hold also (hernia operation). But back in the gym now & loving it !

As Richie gets older he just adds more strings to his bow , guys like Pocock are mpore your pure fetcher but Richie seems to be everywhere these days .And his on field presence is huge .
If Reid and McCaw were South Africans they would be Juan Smith and Luke Watson. Reid the unsung hero and McCaw the overbloated myth. I hate it when Reid cheats because he is so much more then that. hes been the best in his position for a few years now.
I agree he does cover all positions better lately, on his belly, on his back , falling over . Now he has a new string to his bow, Clutching his knee with a grimace. Truth is the rest hasnt made him better just prolonged things. What next ? Cryogenics ?
