Anyone got a run down on him, cant say I know a lot about him.

A good signing for the Canes?

Pretty middle of the road wing/center utility back from what I've seen of him in Super Rugby this year. Maybe you can turn him into something.

CFan, he's a bit of a journeyman. Might be a useful bench addition but I doubt he'll crack a start for the Canes ahead of the likes of Mil-Skud, Ben Lam, Wes Goosen or the exciting prospect Salesi Rayasi.
Kobus Van Wyk played a few seasons for the Stormers before trying his luck in France with limited success. He came back to SA and signed for the Sharks where he's been for the last 2 seasons without really making an impact or nailing down a starting position.
Short answer . . . I wouldn't get too excited if I were a Canes supporter.

Skudders has gone to France hasn't he?

Will have to check their team list.

Doesn't sound like a brilliant signing though

Very useful wing. Didn't get a look in at the shark because of racist quota considerations.

The guy has had a raw deal.

Canes selectors obviously know more than ou rooibozo! The bozo thinks the non selection of Van Wyk proves he is no good. How daft do you get, how ignorant!

Well if the kiwi coaches cant make him a good player no one can.

You would think more saffas would be coming here to improve themselves as players

I really rate him. Has been under utilised in SA on the wing for obvious reasons He is good enough to have played for the Boks Should have played more games at 13, where he played at school and U20 Good move by him to NZ where merit will be on his side I think he is very talented

@Crusaderfan. There's your answer. He's most probably useless.

"Didn't get a look in at the shark because of racist quota considerations."
Pffffffffhahahaha!
The implication being that Kobus van Wyk should have been selected ahead of "useless" quota players like . . . ummm . . . Makazole Mapimpi and Sbu Nkosi . . . or Lukhanyo Am if he wants to be a #13.
Van Wyk is not a bad player but to suggest he couldn't nail down a regular starting spot at the Sharks because of quotas is just plain ignorant.

He is powerful but probably lacks the pace and agility to be a first choice wing. He could improve his skillset at the Canes.

Shark stop making things up - he certainly does not lack pace and agility No Rooi but he was better than Mvovo who always got a look in ahead of him
