Lambie is on the bench. Many would rather see him start at fullback in place of Zane Kirchner. Perhaps the plan is to give Lambie a run at flyhalf in the 2nd half in place of Morne. Then give Frans the kicking responsibility. Although Lambies kicking has improved over time- and currently better than Mornes conversion rate.

Would be great to see Lambie and Frans Steyn combine. Otherwise I cant see how Zane bob Kirchener is starting at 15.

Your thoughts?

I believe he picked Zane because of his size. He is big and physical Heynecke probably want's to use him to hit it up in the middle. However your option cannot be discounted.

Correct Ek, Meyer wanted a bigger man. Lambie has looked a bit frail at fullback recently and Meyer, like Beeno, has spotted this.

Lambie is getting into an awkward spot. Goosen looks like he will block him off at flyhalf - Lambie's best position in my book. So he will have to up his game at 15 and try and stay ahead of Taute who is probably his main competition.

Zane did not have  a bad Super 15. His distribution improved a bit and he attacked quite well at times. I do not think however he has too much rugby nous which is vital at the top level of the game. Anyhow he has a chance now and has to grab it - much like Daniels. Daniles is not the type of forward I would play against the abs.

I am not too worried about Kirchner. He is not going to set the field alight, but he will put in a solid 5/10 - 6/10 performance and that will be that. Lambie on the bench covers 10 and 15 and as such, he will come on if either Kirchner or Steyn are having a bad day at the office. Simple strategy really. And lets us not forget, while the Argies are not a rubbish team, they are the weakest team in the tournament, so we can play with the combos a little. If Lambie comes on for either Kirch or Steyntjie, and cleans up, he could replace them for the Auz and NZ test. Just one last point, F Steyn covers only centre and Fullback, and not really flyhalf, so it is good to have a "speacialist" flyhalf on the bench. I think Meyer has a good balance.

Not a bad side given injuries plus a few quibles re certain guys selected - certainly not a disastrous selection.

@beeno mate please stop blowing your own horn. you and meyer spotted this ?? are you serious ???

lambie om the bench covers more options. i would have like pienaar in front of hougaard seeing that hougaard also gives you more options from the bench. might be the wake up call that he needs to spark his game back. zane must put in a blinder to convince all the rugby public so lets hope he does that.

it one looks at the bench split i think meyer might very well run that ball.

i think lambie might get a run on at 10 we will just have to wait and see.
