There is one issue I have not commented on in the past - and that is about Brussouw.  i would definitely have put him ahead of Daniel - despite a major speed difference.   My selection would have been Coetzee at 8 and Brussouw at 6 - but that would be an early vote of no confidence by Meyer in respect of one of his erstwhile protegees.   It may just work out like that in the long run.

Nope Spies is a must at 8. Meyer should have included Brussouw in the squad, leaving him out leaves a sour taste

We're playing him at 6 though, Saffex. Robsaw is remaining our 7 !

Thanks Becs for the correction.

This could be a nice test of theories.

Sapster, spiesies is under severe pressure to deliver as Duane is set to take over the number 8 jersey unless something concrete happens. Just thought I would tell you in advance so you can get used to the possibility.

Beeno battling to keep ou sapster up todate with emerging realities.

But we all know that playersd chop and change around the breakdown and pack down at opposing sides of the Scrum to where we expect them to be. Johnson might be doing this ?

There is a rumour that Brussouw - like Fourie duP - opted out on their own.  We still have Bissie and also as an impact player Coenie.  Beeno1 - Spies may be counting the hours.  although the potential is there the guy has not lived up to the hype.  His get up-and-go has got up and went.

There is also a thing with referees these days to be very strict on the fetcher so maybe not having one is better than a guy who tries hard but gives away penalties.  Ref = Steve Waltsingmatilda.

Brussouw will be back in time to come.

Nope the consensus is that Vermeulen is too slow for 8, if he plays for the Boks it will be at 7

Strange call by Lancaster Becs, I see Johnson is no spring chicken he is 29, where the hell has he been all these years, cant be that good?

He's a very good player, solid and dependable. But he doesn't play for one of the flash teams, so he has been ignored. He had a chance when Johnson was in charge and has spent most of this season with a broken leg. But, I'm glad he's finally getting a real chance...good luck to him !

Vermeulen is slower than Etsebeth.  Probably his one big draw back - how can you manage cover defense in a fast flowing game at 8 if your top end is like that of a no1 or 3 - actually WP Nel may even be faster..
