 Francois Louw will fight a lone battle to limit the Australians, but it won’t be enough for a Bok victory.

Louw is the most improved of the Springboks in the last 12 months. He is as good, if not better, than Michael Hooper as an out and out fetcher, but he also contributes more generally than Hooper.

Neither yet has the all-round influence of All Blacks captain Richie McCaw, but when it comes to fetcher on fetcher two of the game’s best will be on display in Brisbane.(Well one plays within the laws and the other doesnt - also once you have a groupie fan base you needn't be on the field to have a good game- we saw this continually with matfield)

There is healthy respect between the two camps, but as I’ve written all week I think the balance of respective loose-trios favours Australia.

I also think the Australians will get enough phase ball from the lineout to be effective. Their scrum is poor and took a beating against the All Blacks. I believe they will struggle as much in the scrums against the Springboks.

It is the only area of the game I see a significant Bok advantage and the lineout strength of both teams is on a par.

South Africa isn’t as dominant in the lineout without the likes of Victor Matfield and Andries Bekker, especially when contesting.

The Boks will always bring physicality to the contest but I’d have like to have seen a selection, less physical but more mobile for this specific match-up.

Quade Cooper and Will Genia, as a combination, will be effective in Brisbane and expect Israel Folau to have an influence.

I have Louw to play a big game, but I also have the Wallabies winning by 7, possibly as much as 10 points.

7 points is a close call so Mike be warned your 20 plus is looking over the top?

Francois Louw is just another in the long line of ridiculously overrated WP loose forwards - like Skinstad, Koster, Krige, Brink, Burger etc - who get hyped up by the WP spin-doctors to the point where SA fans believe they're rugby superstars when they're actually bog ordinary plodders.

Typical from Rooinek the anti WP/Stormers poster, Louw is overrated? The ones that are doubting Louws ability are definitely speaking too soon, he is a key all round flanker that knows his role well. In comparison with Hooper he is a quick backrow player that is hard to bring down but lacks the physicality that Louw and Alberts have. There is question marks whether or not Hooper will front up. Im expecting the boks forwards to dominate the Aus forwards and I think Louw could play a big part in that.

after mozter mentioned how he thought this was the storngest Bok pack ever, IMO they should have then started kolisi, his speed at being able to get round the park and do the link work will come in more handy,

but louw is a better fetcher thoughm only problem is how effective is he going to pilfering, the wallys have the ability to get to the vast majortiy of all breakdowns beofre their counter parts do, epsecially in the latter part of the game, and hooper who IMO is the fastest loosie around is going to thrive in todays enviroment.

Wrong dan dan, our best 3 fetchers/opensides are Brussouw, Kolisi and Fourie. Kriel impresses me the more I see him.........so we have four who are worthy
