"You may not know that Libbok grew up in Riversdale - he obviously is as honest as they come . . ."
First off, stupidissimo, Manie Libbok grew up in Humansdorp and secondly, if you were right (use your imagination here) and he had in fact grown up in Riversdal, why would that make him "obviously" honest . . . especially when the one person we know on this board from Riversdal is a proven l iar?

Manie should not be a work in progress at this point.
Everybody that couldn't stand Jantjies should feel no different about Manie. He's more inconsistent, a lesser playmaker and a worse defender than Elton was.
After last year, and the previous seasons of confidence placed in Manie, he should be on fire right now and looking like the first choice for the Boks. He's in his prime and we're still talking about him as "developing".
There is only a 3 year age difference between Manie and Pollard. If you're struggling, try this...Pollard's boot guided the Boks to the 2019 WC title...when he was 2 years younger than Manie is now.
Let that sink in.

Manie had a stellar game and his ability to attack, his passing skills is phenomenal….Willemse as usual, is dangerous with ball in hand, but if we potentially looking at Willemse for the 12 spot, he needs to defend a bit more accurate….Manie was fired up when he got his kicks over, showing that he has been working on that….real good.

Pollard from the time he first played for the Boks has been dangerous in traffic inside the 22. He hits the line at pace and is hard to put down. The way the Boks play that’s more relevant than attacking in space.
Whether that changes with the new coaches, in matches that count, remains to be seen.

Draad, Elton would go an entire season making tries all over the place and being a far more consistent kicker...and then people would focus one the one or two bad games he had. People's main gripe with him was that he failed in big games. But he did lead a dominant Lions side, in SR and against better opposition, over a period of three years, where they barely lost any games, often winning by massive margins.
Manie strikes me as that special case where he plays well enough at times for one to have hope that he can elevate his game. Kind of an underdog type situation.
Elton was almost flawless, meaning that when he did mess up it was all people spoke about.
I'd like for Manie to succeed but time is running out. We might be in a situation where Pollard holds the spot long enough that when Manie is supposed to take over proper there's another kid on the scene and Manie is 32.

Nothing wrong with Willemse’s defence - in fact it’s a strength. He is an exceptional player as is Libbok who despite his size fronts up in the tackle
Gelant is a special player as well, he is the closest thing to Willie in fact he is probably even better at creating for those around him. He is currently in sublime form
Shit we have some scarily gifted backs in our ranks at the moment - Gelant, Fassi, Arendse, Kolbe, Green, Moodie, Willemse, David Kriel, Libbok, Sacha, Nohamba, Williams and Papier

Willie is history but not to fear we have creativity in abundance
The task is finding the best combination of 7 backs from the 13 listed
Certainties are Arendse, Kolbe and Willemse
Added to the 13 listed you still have Pollard, Am and Esterhuizen that are 30 and therefore have a few years left in them yet
