Faced with two pressure kicks to beat Connacht Manie delivered….along with a brilliant break setting up the try. Libbok and Willemse are looking good as a possible 10/12 option for the Boks. Willemse substantially outgained Bundi Aki and continues to look the business.
Defense remains a concern….they missed 6 tackles between them. But as an attacking combination they can be lethal.

I always think of Libbok as work in progress, that he lacks maturity and that he still hasn't realised his full potential and I'm hoping Brown can create whatever it takes to get him to a stellar level. Never ever doubted his talent and potential from the moment I set eyes on him. Would like to know his role model.

Was at the game and the Stormers deserved their win as did Libbok on man of the match. Wasn't a great game to be honest. Connacht while not lacking for effort where poor, their handling was just dire and they showed very little in attack. Not really happy with the coaching ticket but stuck with them another season.
As for the rest of the URC. Looks like advantage Munster. Might also finally see Leinster send a strong squad down to SA to face Bulls in a potential semi final.
Pollard steps up for the big games, but Manie brings more on attack. If the Bok backline evolves under the new specialist attack coach - we could get more out of Manie.
Still not the best player in wet slow conditions, but the weather at the last world cup was unseasonable from the quarters onwards.

Eggzakerly my point......without the pity. Some here forget that he did very well for his country and team in Pollock's absence at the RWC.
Some here struggle to embrace change even though change is a necessity. The reliance on the set pieces to win tests is a dead duck. Rassie has realised that it's not the way forward and that the Bok game needs to evolve in preparation for the next RWC. He knows that he won't win the next one with the same strategy he employed in the past one. Credit to Erasmus who has his eyes wide open and his finger on the pulse.
Rassie is moving in the right direction and BTW he has also realised that his current support staff are there for reasons other than their zero expertise in coaching.
I'm not about to call him a genius he's simply reading the right script.
Now with change there'll be some potholes and hiccups and no-one should be expecting it to be a smooth and mistake free transition. Ask yourself, If the Bok team doesn't evolve what exactly is there to go back to? I expect that the real test of the changes will unfold itself on the playing field in an actual game under pressure. But if it comes off then the Boks would have added a new dimension to their style of play equal if not better than the Kiwis and Ozzies at their brilliant best.
Besides change in style of play one should add that he has an enormous problem with selections so in a way it's a double whammy, some would argue it's a nice one to have.......well I'm glad I'm on the sideline watching it all unfold.

Without Willie Leroux, the Boks will certainly need a specialist backline coach - which is what they have for the first time.
Leroux cutting the line as a playmaker really helped the Bok attack, and sometimes it seemed the Boks could not break down defences consistently without him. His long draw and pass moves and running angles allowed the players to run off him and bring more to the attack
Stick is good for pealing the oranges, but he has no proven pedigree as a coach, let alone a backline specialist coach.
Say Dave, I can't remember the last time I've been excited about the Boks as I'm now. To be honest my interest had waned even the WC didn't do a lot for me even though I'm obviously happy the Boks won.
But here's the question for the naysayers and knockers.....do they think these guys(Gelant, Fassi, Arendse, Kolbe, Green, Moodie, Willemse, David Kriel, Libbok, Sacha, Nohamba, Williams and Papier) would make an AB or Oz side?
