Willie, Kolbe, Am, Dud Allende, Parsi, the great Morne Steyn, Faf.

Kitshoff, Marx, Koch, Etzebeth, Mostert, Kwagga, Dud Toit, Wiese.

Just my guess. Thoughts and any idea when the teams will be announced

Likely Springbok starting team;-

Willie, Kolbe, Am, De Allende, Pollard, faf, Kitshof, Marx, Malherbe, Etzebeth, Elstadt, Du Toit, Wiese. \

The Great Morne Steyn won't be on the bench since he failed badly in the A team match.

Like your side Mike but Elstadt is not a fully fledged  lock.

I take it Lood and Snyman are out. Schickerling could be an option. Mostert is not ideal but does work hard.

Kwagga must not come near this Bok side. Koch is not as good as Malherbe in the scrum.

If the Boks can win in Cape Town they should win the series.

I also have reservations about Marx. He has gone backwards. Dweba may be an option. Quite a few questions given the injuries etc.

Backline looks pretty settled apart from who will be the other wing.

Given the Boks have had limited preparation, stick with the World XV 2019 team makes sense.

15 Willie
14 Kolbe
13 Am
12 Dud Allende
10 Pollard
11 Mapimpi/Fassi

9 Jantjies (Faff over does up and unders)
8 Wiese
7 Dud Toit
6  Kolisi/Kwagga
5 Mostert
4 Etzebeth
3 Malherbe
2 Marx
1 Kitshoff

Bench:
Forwards:

Nykana - can cover both prop positions
Bongi -
Thomas DuToit
Van Staden
Lock(?)

Backs:

Faff/ Jantjies
Morne Steyn
Fassi/Mapimpi

Not sure if it will be a 5/3 split, or a 6/2 split in the bench.

I thought Pollard was unavailable….and I certainly wouldn’t play him on the wing, like Oom is suggesting. I also thought Malherbe had Covid 19 and Kolisi had Captains 19.

Kwagga should never be in a Bok team but van Staaden was awful.

Beeno

Sorry I left out the one lock.   The reason is I think  Erasmus  will likely be going for Van Rensburg at lock ahead of Mostert.   I do not think that Kolisi is available - if he is - he will be the openside flank.   The alternative for him would be Elstadt

I think that the following would be automatic selections;-\

Le Roux

Kolbe

Am

De Allende

Pollard

De Klerk

Du Toit

Etzebeth

Malherbe

Kitshof

I think that Erasmus and Nienaber would  consider the analysis of player activities  and effectiveness advanced program - as well as the video review of both games..  They will then pick the five players not mentioned.    Another indication would also come from players they would like to be good enough in  WC 2023.    .

Is José Erasmus still coach? Is Nienaber not his own man? Is the crutch still in use, but this time walking limply in the shadows?

They work as a team and has being doing it for at least 25 years  You are too dumb to understand  a partnership concept.

Sleeping Partner: A sleeping partner is a person who provides some of the capital for a business but who does not take an active part in managing the business.

Nienaber is the fall guy….if they succeed it will all be Erasmus.

The real village idiots at it again.   one wonders how far their lunacy will  go this time around.   They obviously are praying for a loss - after the WC fort hem disaster they need something to support their crazy ideas.

I never wish for the Boks to lose. But just to get it straight, your prediction is:

Mostert wont be selected?

Morne Steyn won’t be in the match 23?

I did not write about the  Bench make-up.    It depends on how the  bench is made up.   If there are 3 backline players - the back-up likely would be  Jantjies,  Francois Steyn and  Willemse.   If two it will likely be only Jantjies and F Steyn.

i am saying this clearly because  all of Pollard, Malherbe, F Steyn, Bongi and Ori tested postitive for the virus.   Neither Pollard nor Malherbe showed any signs of illness an will get back to play relatively easily.   i do not know whether the others showed signs of illness  as a result of the virus..

If there was to be a flyhalf back-up I would not be surprised if  Erasmus  and Nienaber call up Goosen as replacemeent flyhalf  as both Steyn and  Jantjies failed in the two  trial matches anyway.    Please note that in both they used 10  bench players and not the normal 8.    Neither Morne Steyn nor Jantjies will be on the bench anyway.

I am not saying Mostert won't be selected.   I left that position open.   as you could see.  I am not sure what will happen .  If one look at the WC - after a poor game by Mostert against the  AB's - and another failed open field missed tackle leading to a try  - Mostert was put on the bench, for the other major games.    The  coaching staff has Jones in Dublin to keep a narrow track on Springboks playing in the UK, Ireland and France  and his report did lead to the call-up of Van Rensburg and Wiese to the squad.    Mostert - after a rather indifferent performance record at Gloucestor left the latter team and is now playing in Japan.    It is obvious that in the absence of Snyman and De Jager - it may happen that he ends up on the bench..   As  to the performances in the 2 A-team matches I think it is likely that Van Rensburg would start.    \

As to your constant attacks on Erasmus and some players one winders about whether you really would not want a loss to have some real  and not made-up imagined grounds to  base your attacks on.

Goosen carrying the hopes of a nation in a Lions series? That's just too cruel!

Reminds one of:

Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio?
Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you
Woo, woo, woo
What's that you say, Mrs. Robinson?
Jolting Joe has left and gone away
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey

…..

I’m afraid Goosen left, went away, and is now being resurrected with the same likely result.
