Name: Lionel Cronje

Age: 25

Height: 1.84m

Weight: 90kg

Position: Flyhalf

The 25 year old flyhalf has played a lot of rugby in a five year career that was jump-started following his inclusion in the Baby Bok squad for the 2009 IRB Junior World Championships.

He was drafted into the Free State Currie Cup squad before stints with the Stormers, Bulls, Lions and Brumbies, followed by his move to Durban Natal in 2014.

This guy has been everywhere or is that his brother?

Surely they should be building for the SuperXV and giving game time to Swiel or/and Zinger Burger

Cronje's going pretty good in the second half.

Cronje did not look good in tthe first half - two fairly easy penalties missed.   However, he did better in the second half and his out-of-hand kicking was excellent.   Not the brightest flyhalf around - but he is as Sharkbok said - a joiurneyman.

I always rated him, but injuries and his dicipline off the pitch set him back. i hope he does better at the Sharks.

So Sharkbok, what'z the verdict? Journey man or unrealised potential? I'm leaning towards the latter.

I can't say there's anything special about him that would make me think he can step up to higher honours. He looks like a capable provincial flyhalf.

Draad he is like an Elton Jantjes type of player. He will have some good games at Curry Cup level, but put him at SuperXV level with less time and space, he will fail.
Given the amount of teams he has played at, all are for such as short time. If he was good, it is most likely that he would have been encouraged to stay on
