Lionel Mapoe and Jean-Luc du preez added to Bok squad . . .

Lionel Mapoe has been added to the Bok squad to replace the injured Lukhanyo Am. Am fractured his cheekbone during the game where the Sharks humiliated their Bunnies, the Hapless Stompies.

Jean-Luc du Preez has also been drafted into the Bok squad but he's not replacing anyone and no reason has been given for his inclusion.

I think we all know the real reason . . . the selectors were so focused on squeezing as many players of colour into the squad that they inadvertently left out the best player in the country in his position.

One more thing, the other player who really should have been rewarded for his recent form is Kwagga Smith. I think it's a shocker that he hasn't even been considered for the SA A team when he is the form player in the entire country.

 
Must agree ... Kwagga has impressed all season long ... a class act, fully deserving of a Bok call up. Coetzee clearly disagrees.

Glad to see Jean Luc in the mix ... it's high time he got called up.

Many more still waiting on the sidelines for their call up.

 Mapoe was really poor I the test he played in - so I do not think he can take the step up from Super Rugby.   Another midget who will never succeed - same as Juan de Jongh.  
We have problems at center,  but I doubt he is the answer - even though he is miles better than De Jongh or Fat Fransie.

 What does that mean - rabid dog?   I said that Mapoe is better than Fat Fransie and De Jongh - two of the most useless centers imaginable - and he was not really succcesful when he played on test level.

Mapoe is like Jantjies. If they play a Coetzee game plan they are useless. 
If the coaches want an aimless kicking game- varied by crash ball- then neither Jantjies or Mapoe are the answer.

Hopefully Kwagga is eventually given a chance, he's dominating much bigger flankers at the break down. And is awesome with ball in hand and in space, the 7s experience has worked wonders.

 I've had an eye on Kwagga, a revelation, still work in progress but appears to be getting more proactive with each passing game. I'd have him in my Bok squad.

 
Agreed APD. In all fairness he should be given an opportunity ... but he won't ever receive the invite.

Not while we have quotas like Kolisi, Oupa, Notshe and every other black and coloured Bok wannabe making their claim.

Talent is no longer a prerequisite. Skin colour is all that matter these days.

 Do you see him ever making the switch to a back CC? He's got skills for it, and it might help his international claim?

 
Many of my mates say the same thing APD ... and to be honest I can't really find fault with their argument.

He's probably too small as a test loosie, so making the switch would absolutely be beneficial to him.

He has a nice turn of speed, reads ther game well, seems to find the gap at will, has a solid defence and an incredible work rate.

I would love to see him given a shot in the midfield. The closer we can get a talent like this to the ball the better.
