So after last nights relegation game, the Lions scrape through even though they lost to a depleted kings team at home in front of a 60 000 strong crowd..They needed to lose by 8 or more points for the Kings to go through but they managed a losing bonus point so they are promoted at the Kings expense.
This may be a mistake imo. The Lions had a decade of Super rugby to prove their worth and they never did. The Kings made more progress in one year. Yes they faded towards the end but they will learn for next year what it takes in this comp. They still beat the runners up in Canberra. Never seen the Lions do that!
Lions should have had to beat the Kings twice to be promoted. A 1-1 result should have favoured the incumbents or we should have a third "test" to seperate them!
