Schoolboy coaches when they are exceptional are imho are excellent choices to coach rugby...especially in the mentoring and understanding dept...Lions have asked Paarl Boys coach, Sean Erasmus to get on board. Not only has he been successful with Paarl Boys...he has that legendary record and results with Glenwood High in Durban. Both schools had a phenominal turn around when he was coaching them.

Despite what some say - intelligence and ball sense have a lot to do with performances in the game of rugby. That is why the assistance of Erasmus will add value to the coaching by the Lions.
We suffered for years of coaches who get suitable talent from rugby schools and then start a programme to coach the talent of youngsters out of existence. To top examples of that was Meyer and Ludeke - but there are others as well. The coaches are also guilty of devising so-called game plans to be applied by donkeys and intelligent thinking playing is discouraged.
This is a good move by the Lions and the results will be remarkable, I wish the other faranchises follow suit.
