After a losing performance against he Brumbies and an iffy one against the Reds - it is evident that the Lions do not have such a strong squad as was originally envisaged. If I was the coach - I would pick the following team to represent the Lions on Saturday:- 15 Leigh Halfpenny, 14 George North, 13 Bryan O'Drisscol, 12 Jonathan Davies, 11 Simon Zebo, 10 Owen Farrell, 9 Mike Phipps, 8 Jamie Heaslip, 7 Sean O'Brein, 6 Tom Croft, 5 Paul O'Connell, 4 Richie Gray, 3 ----------------, 2 Tom Youngs, 1 --------------- Have no idea about the props - since there are a number who prove to be strong scrumagers but those positions I would not care to make a selection.

Sorry Mike I cant thelp much here as I have only watched the Lions in snatches and am not well versed in NH rugby.

Surely O'Driscoll and O'Connor are long in the tooth. Do you think young Farrel is better than Sexton in a white hot test match?

I think the main threat to the Wallabys is in the scrum?

CM - probably not far off what will actually be named.

Sexton will probably start over Farrell, Jones over Gray, Cuthbert over Zebo and of course Warburton will be in the loosies - wonder if Gatland is rueing his choice of captain.

Vunipola and Jones as props.

Oi-matey I was not amazed by the low point scored by most participants in the case of the latest match. Too many missed conversions and too few tries scored. It was in fact not a showpiece to watch. What are we going to do with the first test. I have just about $12 395 840 available. If you divide the above amount by 12 you get to fan average price of $1 032 500 per player. The players likely to be selected are all way above that - matter of fact they cost substantially more than the price indicated. How members are going to handle that one is not clear. I will have to look at the selected teams and try and work out a solution to have the maximum number of top players before deciding on a route to take.

Yes indeed mate - will be interesting to see where people cut and compensate to fit the budget.

Serious logjam of talent in the OB position  - they classified O'Connor as an OB - so you have Halfpenny, O'Connor, North, Ioane, Folau etc.

One feature I wish Testrugby had would be the ability to preview a possible lineup so you can experiment with combinations and then a submit button to make it final - much like FoxSports. As it is, I find myself using pen, paper and a calculator and still burning the odd transfer because of an ill-advised selection.
