Now that's what I call an interesting start to the Lions tour.

As predicted, oimatey comes through, sounding his warning to us all.

Wow, that is the quickest I've ever seen Testrugby get a result up!

Deciding between Heaslip or Croft was a coin-toss for me. Wish I'd called heads!

Very quick here.  The poorest point scorers in the Lions team were Best and Murray and even Croft was dicey - except that he did score a try.

The competition will become more interesting during the next game against the Reds - with stronger players in evidence.   I would think that Quade Cooper will play and would also look at replacing Croft and the three players from the Force team I selected - the cost factor will also play a major role.

Congrats to oi-matey he beat us again on this one.

Ou Maaik, I suspect you're going to have to replace your entire team every week in this particular competition. I'll be surprised if Gatland picks any of today's starters for Saturday's game.

Rooinek

I agree with your latest remarks - but since the Reds have a stronger team than the Force - some of todays top players - like Halfpenny and O'Driscol is likely to survive and play in the next game as well.

jeebers, wuyn jones over evans and croft over heaslip equals oimatey 500+, o_O

i wish i didnt detest heaslip so much, cos i would have selected him too.

i missed out on the game, was watching the state of origin and i thought i had recorded the lions game but didnt, sigh.
pretty sad wed so far, hope the JWC superbru is better whee i found the majority of my fellow sarugby.coms peeps selections very conservative.

Ou Maaik, I think it's highly unlikely that Gatland will make someone like Leigh Halfpenny play two games within 4 days and not give someone like Stuart Hogg a game at all. By the same token, you can pretty much bank on a centre pairing of Jamie Roberts and Jonathan Davies for Saturday. There's a reason he's got a 37 man squad for this tour.

Brian O'Driscoll had a good game today but I don't reckon he's going to be first choice centre for the test matches. I think the test match combination will be Roberts at #12 and Tuilagi at #13 with O'Driscoll on the bench.

It was a little bit of a crap shoot today - you knew they were going to score a ton of tries and just hoped you picked the right ones :)

I thought the better players of the Western Force were making an impression too easily on the Lions - Brown, Sheehan, Hodgson. Lions defence will need to be a lot better, which one would expect as they play more together. Attack was deadly. Good ball carrying forwards. After seeing today's game I think Higginbotham being out is going to have a big impact.
