He had a couple of good runs but a few mistakes also. Bad pass messed up a try.

Lions are playing very well, backs playing with speed based mainly of Faf's pace. They are always in position for the pass & attacking in waves.
Sharks will have a hard time of it unless something changes drastically.

Garth April has been atrocious. I don't watch much Super rugby so this is the first time I've seen him, but for a guy who made the Bok squad I was expecting a little more than error after error after error.

The Lions build a team culture, and the Sharks tried to buy a team in a short time.
Gary the golden fool is useless. He could not build or manage anything

Horrible stuff from the Sharks. The huge hyperbole from Stranski was nauseating.

Sharks have potentially a very good pack. backline badly disrupted and not as well organised as Lions.Redlinhuys is a key player for the Lions and should start for the Boks. Yound Ackerman was very impressive and Mostert's work rate was huge.Faf is simply the best scrummie in world rugby. No arguments about that. Another Beeno pick comes good!
How useless was April!! To think this this guy got in ahead of Du Plessis. Then how about Marx he was world class. Akkers excellent in his brief stint. But we were saddled with Bongi and ntubeni!!!!!!!!!!!!Great loosies on show. Showed u how pathetic Kolisi and carr are! While we are at it away also with the hapless Paige!
What a disgrace all these racist selections are!! The only dope supporting all this is the disgraceful dense denise!

The Sharks rucked us off our ball on several occasions.
The Lions are still struggling to protect there ball at the breakdown. Drives me insane. Definitely an aspect that needs work.
It would make the world of difference once we get that sorted.

Lions bench not as effective collectively as the Sharks. Lions are still building depth. I see the crowd was 34,000. Means more boodle!

Yes, CC I did watch the game, did you? It's worth watching as it was the only decent game played by SA teams this weekend.

CC, the sharks have an advantage of size so if they get to the breakdown & rucks they have a good chance of driving the Lions off the ball. Lions have the advantage of speed so always a good matchup of competing strengths.
03 Jul 2016, 11:44#22
I mentioned it cause I see you have Joe Pietersen listed as the Sharks 10.
Could have sworn I saw Garth April wearing that particular jersey.
Puzzling that you have stats for a man that wasn't even listed in the match 23.
Puzzling indeed.

Wee CC finally makes a point,
I've updated the stats. They show both 10s were pathetic of cou rse. I didn't compare them to other 10s in the SA conferences (none of them were much good from what I saw) and didn't compare to NZ conference, we all know what that would show.

Feeling like a twat, huh??
Haaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahaaaa!!! And so you should.
Whaaat??? No apology??
No ... "I'm very sorry, CleanCut for lying about watching the match!!" ...
Perhaps you should stick to your copy and paste. That way you can at least fool some of the posters on this board that you actually know the difference between this sport and that of bowls... !!!
Haaaaaaaahahahahahahaaaaa!!!!

CC. Yep towards the end of the game the Sharks were a bit better at ruck time. To me, what made the crucial difference was that there were long phases during the first 60 minutes were the Lions got to rucks and secured their own ball at light speed. Over all the Lions forwards dominated the Sharks by some distance. And that's what made the difference.
04 Jul 2016, 10:02#29
Our scrum was dominant and we did some good work in the lineouts ... but at times I thought we lost the collision at the breakdown.
We won turnover ball on several occasions only to have them counter ruck us and take the ball back. We lost go forward here and had to reset our defences quickly before they attacked our line. Luckily they were poor at taking advantage of this and let us off the hook. A better team would have punished us.
Our body position wasn't right (too upright) and we didn't commit sufficient numbers to the breakdown.
I am happy with the end result ... but still feel we need to work on this aspect as it's been a weakness of ours all season long.
The Canes exploited our weakness here and gave us a hiding.
