I know we feel that Lomp is just dead wood, but I watched the game again last night and in his first two touches. Each of his carries were averaging 5 meters. It doesn't sound like match, but what he did brilliantly is to get over the gain line and taking players with him. He even managed to poach a few balls and hit the rucks. One of this hits were poor Jean Luc that unfortunately had to go off for HIA.

I was really impressed with him. He is only 31 and definitely had a great work rate on the park. I hope he can keep this up. We may have good season after all in our pack.

I noticed Rassie picked two locks again on the bench. Looks like we'll be seeing more of the 2 rows and bomb squad

Agreed, I have never been a Lomp fan, but he was excellent on Saturday playing with real intent.

Let's hope his shoulders hold out, by his own admission they're not built for rugby.

What I do noted was that Loo0d is abck to his noral high performance level and is together with Etzebeth and Snyman the top lock choices, According to what I saw his playing in Japan has advanced his peformance and he is now more where e action is than he sued to be. He still is physically very strong asis evident b th try he scored,

I do not think that Mostert is in line to play at lock in future - more likely to be on the fringes iro the number 7 poisition than at lock. But then Esterhuizen is also competing for the number 7 Jersey, ,
