It feels like the Argetina vs All Blacks match will almost go unnoticed this weekend, but since South Africa has struggled to beat the Argies at home and coming very close to losing. I really hope that the the Pumas can create an ups et.

 Yes they can Cloudy!

Are you being cocky or what, never underestimate the underdogs; remember what England did to ya last year, its not that long ago.

It makes no difference who the All Blacks play, they will always be the underdogs. That just goes with the territory of being the number one ranked team in the world.  Speaking of underdogs, Australia must fancy their chances this weekend. History has shown that Australia are more than capable of beating the Boks at home. Sadly for the Pumas, they have no such history to draw inspiration from having NEVER beaten the All Blacks anywhere. I assume NTanga is prepared for the possibility of a famous Aussie victory.

I doubt it will happen. Of course it's possible. Typical kiwis arrogance!!!

Personally I'd rather see the Wallabies beaten by the Pumas.

That would make my day.

Oh yes and of course if the Bulls lose to the Griquas tomorrow I would be tempted to doing the lambada all weekend. Especially if they then face the Pumas in a relegation match later ... and lose.

Aaaaaaaaaah yes .... the thought of it alll, delights my soul.

My problem is rather a possible upset by the Aussies over the Springboks.   Unlike others who only watch parts of games - and watch what they want to see - I watch whole games.

Let me explain.   Before the issue of the yellow card and penalty try in the Soweto test - there was not much difference between the Springboks and Argentina in the Soweto test.   That incident was followed by a brilliant kick by Willie le Roux - which led to the Engelbrecht try.  Being playing with 14 men virtually the full second half - the Springboks went for the kill and the result was a runaway victory.

In the case of the match in Mendoza the situation was turned around and we were bloody lucky to win that match being outscored by two tries to one.   We struggled throughout the match and was not at all convincing.

In the case of the Brisbane test - the match could have gone either way - up to about 15 minutes before the end of play when the try of De Villiers got scored.   That was followed by two more tries as a result of the brilliance of Le Roux.   OK it was a convincing win - but the collapse of the Aussies late in the game was clear.

What will happen in the test tomorrow.   If the Wallabies can stay in touch or managed to go clear of the Springboks - like the Pumas did in Mendoza - there might be an upset.   That is really what worries me.   I still predict a Springbok win - but by a narrow margin.   Am a bit worried about the issue though.

Now for the All Black game.   I think they should win with ease - but they are going to have to outplay the Argentine forwards.   They can do that by taking the ball wide all the time.   I cannot see how there could be a upset in this case.   Last year the Pumas did give the All Blacks some problems in the first match - but the All Blacks won the subsequent test in Argentina with ease and got a bonus point of the game as well - so I suspect much more of the same tomorrow .

No shit?

Boks v Aus in SA. Won 31, lost 10. Win ratio 75.6%.

Since re-admission in 1992, Aus only beat SA at Newlands once in 1992.

Ceradyne

History means nothing in matches - it is what happens on the field of play that s affecting match outcomes.

Boooooom ................ off goes ou Maaikie. Onto the bandwagon again. I replied to another post that said that........ "History has shown that Australia are more than capable of beating the Boks at home."

I merely posted the correct historical facts. I never made any deduction about the outcome of the game on Saturday.

Australia have won 5 of their 21 games in SA since 1992. That's a 25% strike rate. SA have won 5 of the 25 games in Australia giving them a 20% strike rate. What's Agrentinas strike rate at home against the ABs?

Argies listen to Beeno. Play like you did against the Boks and the wee abs will wilt like roses in the desert sun. Apologies to all roses for the comparison .
Don't underestimate the Argies at home. The must know how pap the abs are - surely!

Please brother bueno don't compare us to the hapless bok team that almost lost in Argentina if not for the sympathetic kiwi ref that saved their bacon.

The Argentinians literally feasted on you and face it, Etzabeth should have been carded for a dangerous tackle.

It would'nt have been the first time that Argentina had beaten you though.

Such an undisciplined side you have and then you cry about losing players. Funny az.

Arrogance or confidence. I'm a realist. I have no illusions that the pumas are tough and a physical side, any team that pushes the sa around has to be. The All Black could not get there bonus point they really need. They may only win by 3 points. That is a real possibility. I find it hard to see the AB losing.
Same goes for the SA vs Wallabies. Going by there previous outing. The Wallabies are very poor and going backwards. Almost as bad as the pumas. SA should tear the Wallabies apart with a record loss more than anything. If that doesn't happen I'd be surprised.

The record loss of the Wallabies against the Springboks was in 1997 when the Springboks beat them 63-22.   However, they had a real coach then - now they have a dud selector - so there are no chance of a record win.   If the Springboks win - the winning margin is likely to be small - I give them a 70% chance of winning by between 5 and 10 points

Even though the Wallabies is a poor team this year - the Springboks have some really deficient combinations and that is why I for one is not over-optimistic about tomorrow.

Don't be so hard on your team mike. The rest of NZ is on high alert. If we all listened to some of the comments on here you would think the Springboks were all missing limbs. The SA are a serious threat and contender for world domination. Wallabies are dropping ranks and player skill level is in chaos. Never alone there mental strength. I would expect. A royal thrashing of epic proportion. Unless the Wallabys pull a game out of there ass like England on the All Blacks....I doubt it.

Papa moaner you are correct in all respects but the wobblies. They must always be taken seriously.I am also going to watch the abs game against the A rgies with keen interest. Have the Argies got the better pack. They could squeeze out a win if their intensity is up.

Very possible...in fact in La Plata is a different story.

Incidentally rugby history overlooks conveniently the technicality between the Jaquars (a combined S American side) and the Pumas, not taking into consideration that other countries...ie Uruguay and Chile contributed sweet fanny adams...when the following history was made :

During the second South America tour in 1982 South America won the second of the two internationals in Bloemfontein, with Porta scoring all of the 21 points in the victory.] Argentina also defeated Australia 18-3 in Brisbane at Ballymore in 1983. Another South American tour took place in 1984. Argentina also defeated France 24-16 in June 1985. Following a 20-33 loss to the All Blacks that October, the famous 21-21 draw happened on 2 November, aginst the All Blacks.

any team can beat any team, but the All Blacks wont lose to the pumas, :oP

the only possible upset this weekend is the wallabies beating the Boks, which while unlikely, is still more probable then the pumas beating the All Blacks.

never forget that in the professional era the All Blacks have beaten 'everybody' in their own backyard more times then they have lost and that includes the Boks,

Granted...the odds will always favour the AB's who IMO are still the best however pride always come before a fall...I think that this Puma team if they get it together on home ground can pull it off...their pack is very impressive and depending if they utilise it correctly I think any side would have to pull out all the stops to neutralise it.

I like the brand of rugby the pumas are playing, they definitely try to keep the ball alive. Hopefully they can draw same inspiration from the crowd as what they did against the boks. Who knows, they can win tonight.

Wishful thinking corn. Highly doubt seeing the All Blacks losing to the Argentinians. However seeing the AB collect there bonus point would be on the cards. You like the style of the Puma..."interesting. I prefer the All Blacks style it seems more successful. SA would love nothing more than to see the AB lose. Keep the dream alive fellas.
Unfortunately for the SA supporters NZ don't screw around. They would love nothing more than deal to the Argys gain a massive advantage ahead of the BOk and create a near impossible chance for SA to win a RC trophy. Then head to SA and collect another bonus point victory before a clean sweep NH tour.

what matters is that the AB does not get the bonus point it would only be justice considering that they never should have got one in Eeeckland

No SA should of hammered the AB even with one player missing. ..".Hate to say it but take a player off the AB and I believe they still would have won. But don't worry we'll confirm that that the AB are the best well and truly on your own home ground just to rub it in.

Thanks argies for nothing, couldn't keep the all blacks from scoring 4 tries. Did well at the beginning and totally destroyed there scrum. Well done All Blacks, difficult conditions and playing off a week scrum, but still managed to four tries.
Game on, SA will have to get 4 tries and win by at least 8. SA had done it before at Ellis park but it is a massive task
