Springbok centre Wynand Olivier and loose forward Ryan Kankowski are set to continue their careers in Japan, according to Volksblad.

The newspaper reports the duo have informed Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer of their impending departures following the conclusion of the Super Rugby season.

Osama

Which club in Japan is stupid enough to sign up those two players?   Kankowski can still be understood - but Meisiekind!!!!!  They really must be desperate - or the contract will not be for no more than $100 000 per year over a two year period.

 This is frustrating.

It is the year after the world cup, we should be building for 2015.

Instead we have given this - Missie Kind another chance. Not many people liked this decision- even most of the bulls supporters.

However we have still given our support to Missie, to find out that he is leaving to another country.

The only players who should be in the bok team are those who are 100% committed.

Look at Fourie Dupreez- he pulled out as it could have hurt his pay cheque at the last moment.

At least Jaque Fourie was open and honest- and best luck to him. He signed a 2 year deal- and said that he will not consider the boks until after this.

Juan De Jong should be playing or even- that Stormer Center who left for the bulls - because he could not get game time. I forgot his name, dropped from the Bulls- but he has potential- maybe the bulls setup is not his scene. Last year he was excellant for the Stormers in the games he played

Sharkbok

Have to agree with you on this one.  Are you referring to Sadie?   The latter was a good option. but he disappointed at the Bulls.    However. $500 000 is a vast overpayment to Meisiekind and  I think also to Kankowski - but good luck to them both.   When is Daniel going - he is a close friend of kankowski - so he may also go?

By the time Fourie comes back - he will be way past his sell by date.   I think he is past tense and so is Fourie Du Preez.

Guys be glad, this is part of the process to clear the road for the new kids. This gives Serfontein a chance at the bulls. Now he just needs to step past Francois Venter into the starting lineup. very good news indeed. sharks can afford to loose Kankowski as they have adequite backup and youngsters coming through. Good on him as well. At tleast they know when to go.

Ryan is only going for 6 months.  I think its a real good move on his part.  He needs some serious gametime since he had 2 bad years with injuries.

Yes Kankan may still have a bit to offer, but its a good move for Olivier, his best days are done

I must admit, I do feel a little sorry for Kanko, he got a raw deal with the Boks because of Spies. But having said that, all together he had enough opportuninties in the Bok jumper to make a statement, and he was never able to do so. Still, must have been hard playing in the shadow of Spies, when there were definately periods where he was the better player.

You are right bluebok - he got a raw deal and was mismanaged.  Not just after Spies, in 2008 he was behind Watson as well. He played in 19 matches (first one in 2007)  Only started in 7. Of those 7 he started not once was it the full-strenght team and was like the last Lionstour match.   Most of the time he was at flank and his last 2 he had to play lock.  And now Meyer picks him for this weekend after he has been injured just about the whole year.

I think this 6 months will do him the world of good.  Away from everyone.  Will give him time to play himself back into form.  People were complaining he does not play tight enough.  Then he started to do that - then he was not flashy enough.

Yes I am a huge fan!
