Its a fact that we are always going to lose players to europe and japan for financial and security reasons , we might as well just put our big boy panties on and get over ! What about the players that still play in SA ? nobody seems to worry to much about them and i am not talking about the players who are involved in the now 6Franchises , i am talking about the smaller unions, clubs, craven weeks etc , talented guys who just cant get into the bulls or what evers cause he is not from Grey or doesnt have an uncle that knows someone.The AB's and Aussies and everyone for that matter must be laughing at us cause we probably have the biggest pool of players in the world and yet structurally we just cant get it right ! ?Besides Rugga i am involved in a sport that is very Americanised , Ice hockey. Hate them or love the Americans they know how to market and produce a competitive product , the NHL runs on the same principle as Super rugby in that it is between the Canadian and American franchise , with players from all over the world participating but they also have the smaller clubs affiliated to the bigger franchises. These players all go into a draft pick and at draft season the lowest finisher on the log gets first pick of the round one draft players or they are allowed to sell that pick to another franchise.This way no quality players slip through the cracks, its an awesome system and if you are a good player regardless of whom you play for you should end up in which every franchise needs you and possible the green and gold.
