Both the Blues and Crusaders played a high quality game of rugby.
Didn't watch the game but with both Carter and McCaw out it was a good one to win forthe abc.
Sharkies play the bulle at 7 this evening. That is a must watch! Nice duel between Morne and Lambie. New sides and first chance to assess prospects for season.
Brumbies didn'y squeek home, they owned that second half. Not a bad showing at all for the youngest side by far in the competition. Particularly on defence. They will get better and this will only bolster their confidence. Good win.
Morne v Lambie is no more a duel than Darth Vader v Mr.Bean. Lambie a big weakness that I hope the Bulls exploit.
What interests me is the tactical kicking duel. If lambie matches Morne then he may just be heading for the Bok 10 jersey. Goosen and Elton will also be vying for that position as well.
Its a nice head to head.
I watched both games, the first one was top shelf, one has to admire the way the Crusties grind out a win. The Brumbies had the JW seal allover them, kick for field position and no running the ball out of your 22 like they tried to do last year. A no name team they looked cohesive in attack and the win will do their confidence the world of good.

There is no aspect of Lambies game at 10 that is worthy of test rugby. He has already been brutally exposed. The question is this; will he be as awful as he was in last years Super XV campaign? Each year he looks more and more ordinary at 10. There isn't even the slightest hope that he could ever be half the flyhalf that Morne is. No other 10 comes remotely close to Morne right now, much less the pretenders in SA!
umshark that is a typical dorkie question but the answer is this. If at the end of a game you go for a drop near the posts and an opposition finger just manages to deflect the ball so the 3 points are denied you have been unlucky or the side wining by 1 point has been lucky.
Its like a shot in tennis nipping the line and a player winning the match simply because of this one thing.
However I do know that there are those who deny luck has any part to play in sport and one must leave them to their delusions. To such loonies the bounce of a rugby ball can have no effect on a game.
Dumb-Ou my point was that it was a high quality game. On this showing, both these sides are going to do very well but I thought the Saders were the better side.
