Not on that display. Apart from Vorster who had a good first half, rather spoilt by an unnecessary yellow, no Lions player really looked top drawer. . Ackerman had a mixed game, again the leading Lions turmover winner....but in that last Bargie try his tackle was disapointingly feeble....and he ended up conceding 4 turnovers. As for Marx I keep waiting for him to unleash all that muscle, but compared to the young Bismarck...where's the beef? . For the rest Jantjies botched several good chances and was a defensive seive with 6 tackles made....but 3 missed. He did make crucial goal kicks though. Kriel made 2 turnovers but conceded 2 and was pretty much irrelevant. Whiteley irrelevant. Mostert was outjumped once and seemed a little subdued although he tackled well. . The Jaguares blew this game with their offloading insistence. The Lions knew they never kick and left acres of unexploited space behind the defensive line. And imagine blowing a scrum on your opponent's line by hinging when you are a man up......these guys are their own worst enemies.

 I think Jantjies had a good match regardless of some errors.

 I also think we have some promising players coming through, but it would take some doing buil ding them into a team.

Yep..... my mistake, after 50 years of not writing the language, I have to clean up my act. Jantjies kicked well and for once he made two kicks when the chips were down, still his defence was too poor to get my good housekeeping seal of approval.

Jantjies was good in my eyes, I think the Lions showed a lot of fight in that game. I was very impressed with Vorster, he just seems a really well r ounded centre. It's a shame he missed a huge chunk of development last season. 

Not a not a nice game at all. But toward the end someone said that a good teams wins ugly when they play badly. One has to agree with that. A lesser team would have lost after playing that so poorly .
Gotta hand it to the ref. Had a cracking game. Never missed a beat a kept on top of things throughout. 

 I think Whitely summed it up well - the performance of the Lions as a team was pathetic and the opposite for the Jaguares was true - they played a good game. 
I differ from Draad here about Jantjies - he was pathetic,   Whenever under pressure - which he was last night - he goes to pieces.    His kicks all embraced possession turnovers and that says it all - his passing was a problem - his defense was worse - whenever he was tackled there was a possession turnover.  
I think there were too many similar cases as well.   The only players who showed something positive were Coetzee and Vorster - the rest was pathetic.   Even the other two try-scorers caused too many ball possession turnovers and messed up too often.

Glad to see Vorster finding form. Can't wait to see him settle with Rohan.

It's almost as if the Lions have a mental block against the Jaguares.

As Plum said ... we came away with the win ... it was ugly but the points have been bagged.

I'd take that any day.

 The Jags gave all our teams problems with their disruptive hard defence. They force the errors with their constant in your face attitude. You have to gutter brawl to beat them. Lions did well to keep cool and still win.

 It's a pity that we would probably not see them play a NZ side this year.
