I see Rescue Cat ....our escapee from the Cats cast, has decided that the Aussie try wasn't the result of a badly missed tackle by Hougaard, but rather the result of cowardice on the part of Lambie. This isn't worth commenting on, but it is fair to say that Kirchner had a decent game.....that hoof over the dead ball line aside.

I thought Lambie's handling of those deep bouncing balls was pure class. The kid doesn't have a cowardly bone in his body as he showed in his 8 tackles made, none missed, test starting debut against NZ.....who threw the kitchen sink at him

As a matter of fact Lambie has yet to miss his first tackle in a Bok jersey....a perfect record. Almost magical I'd say.

I have been a major critic of Kirchner, but I must admit that he had a good game. Over the last few games he has been consistent. I would prefer Lambie to start, but given that Kirchner has been playing well it is not a big issue in comparison to Morne. Morne is a good player when on form, especially his pole kicking but when he is off the backline attack play was woeful. Joosen and Lambie combining could make the team even better.

From the mature mind of the dead Muzo comes the logic of years and truth, as usual.  That Reclesscat is a kid and a spoilt one at that.  If he does not get what he wants and all do not agree with his idiotic statements he throws his toys and bangs the door on the way out.  He does have some good stuff but it is mostly clouded by his inability to look past a name..

Mozart, that portion is cool and I agree.  Curtly, twinkle toes is good and evasive, but Hougie mis-read the situation completely and all Lambie did wasclose the hole that Hougie left on defense.  Lambie did a few good things in the little while he was on the field.  Zane did not let anyone down though and played a great game.  However as a whole the Bokke played a much better game.

Could it be that they are slowly starting to synergise as a team?  I thought the loosies were exceptional and played (hunted) as a pack withLouw the fetcher, Vermeulen the slowing-down specialist and Alberts did some great carry work.  JdeV is much improved at 12 and Taute did well - especially on defense.  Goosen did not do as well as people may think but was a great improvement in staerting the attack-line - he will mature and get better with every game!

All in all the Bokke played well as a team - albeit against a depleated Australian side.  Next week will offer more of a test of their abilities.  Withe the win the All Blacks had, SA can no longer win the RChamps - so why not play Goosen in the first half and Jantjies in the second - also alternate and play Taute and Steyn etc.

Lunatic

I like your line of thinking - but I think more clarity on selections will emerge over the next twelve months only.   I do not think that anything much different will happen next Saturday other than Francois Steyn being brought back to inside center and De Villiers moved to 13.

The test will in fact be a crucial one for Francois Steyn.  If he does not fit in - then he may ultimately be moved to full back.   It is highly unlikely that Meyer will bring in Jantjies early.  He did well to pass the ball to Louw when he had space - but not so well when an Aussie loosie ran at him and he failed in his tackle effort.    Meyer is not going to gamble with that type of thing in a test against the All Blacks - who no doubt will  attack in the channell to test defence by Jantjies.

Even though the Champiosnhip has been settled - I think Meyer would demand from the players a win against the All Blacks and so would the public at large.   That test will not be the experimental phase you are looking for - the experiments will be in the end-of-year tour.   That will be where Jantjies will be given more opportunities to play and show whether he really can play on international level and some other young candidates will also be brought in.

Lucid

The Cat was around withhis normally funny remarks about player performances.   His classic included that De Villiers had an iffy game and that Louw was not really good.   Obviously he also went for his pet hate Lambie - and said he mussed that tackle in fact missed by Hougaard on Beale.   That explains his normal level of comment more than anything else.   His relative absence removes from the board much to laugh at - so I wish he would come back full time..

Anyone else think Retardcats wife or gf (or bf?) once said she found Lambie attractive?

LMAO! its the only way to xplain this hatred he has for such a class player, Or maybe it just that he knows sweet stuff all about rugby? Gotta be 1 of the 2!!
