Malcolm Marx

For me he is the most exciting thing I have seen in a Bok jersey in a while. Didn't watch the game live, still protesting against the man, but i watched the replay yesterday. This guy is a freak. Heavier than Bizmark, just as strong, but without the discipline issues. I predict great things for the man! 

 
Agreed ... He is the best hooker in the country and should have been in the mix ages ago.

Instead we had to endure Strauss for a year.

 Akkers is also a great hooker who is being overlooked. Faster than Marx and a tough nut. Wo rld class in my opinion.

 
For sure ... and as time goes on ... more and more revelations of those who should have been included ages ago will undoubtedly hit this fool in the face. Of course he'll say he knew all along.

Why can't he get it right the first time round?

It's not that difficult!

Everyone here has been calling for Marx to play for ages(since the start of last year hehe). He got two games last year when really he should have been blooded against the Irish at home and then had a full season. By now he'd be a regular.

But no. We ignored Whitely as skipper, and in so doing fluffed both the 2 position as well as the captaincy.

Let's say that we still had Strauss as captain for this first game against the French. Ie Strauss at hooker also. What type of game would it have been. Makes on realise how much difference one bad, or in this case, good decision can make. Now tell me his captaincy wasn't a huge factor in the Boks poor season last year. To my mind it was probably one of the largest contributing factors to the horror show that was 2016.

Whiteley is a step in the right direction. Both at 8 and as kapitan.

Jantjies had a good game too. Best I've seen in quite some time. I hope he takes all the positives from it and soaks his soul in it. Another two tests to get his new found confidence properly embedded.

He has the talent. It's just his confidence that needs work.

 

 Whiteley has some brains, it makes a difference. Marx looks like a Springbok of old, just scaled up for 2017.
