Struggling to get starts with the Stormers, but started on Saturday. Sideways in every single scrum, rolling the shoulder - penalized for it as well. Marked improvement when he was replaced.
So far this season he has looked out of shape or generally disinterested in general play - no big impact tackles or ball carries as we have seen on occasion in the past.
Bok tighthead was there for his taking for a while, but he never really measured up and now the arrow unfortunately seems to be pointing down.

I never was convinced by this guy....too often when things got tough he would start conceding penalties. His very laid out body position seems vulnerable to any movement. And he can't stay healthy for long. Another 'solution' that was universally acclaimed without any real track record.

How many penalties did Malherbe gave away in scrumming and how many did his opponent give away?

 Another one-hit wonder who was hyped up prematurely. Everybody and his granny were trying to convince us that this guy was the real deal.

Yup, and there was talk of this guy being the future Bok captain. Boy would that have been a big mistake!

 @bluebok...
it would have been a difficult toss up between him and A Strauss...
Neither deserved their spots in the squad.

 Never ever considered him Springbok material.

It is like he is standing on a banana peel at every scrum.
