What a pathetic Bok squad announced by a man who is frightfully out of touch with the modern game and the make up the players he has at his disposal.

Instead of looking forward to the RC, I have been reduced to having to endure this idiot attempt to beat the Aussies and Kiwi's with an insult of a squad

Man its depressing, I love my Bok rugby more than life itself and that wanker of a coach insults us with this shit

Fuck you Meyer, you clueless prick

Mozart is obviously delighted with the geriatrics in the squad and was crying foul about Serfontein. Lambie, Reinach and Hougaard.
However, what Meyer wants with the following iin the squad is really not going to be achieved:-
Morne Steyn, Ruan Pienaar, Willem Alberts,  Victor Matfield, Bakkies Botha and Steenkamp.
Seven out of 30 are really bullshit selections and should not have been in the squad at all.  I can forsee that we have no chance in beating the AB's and the Wallabies if those 7 are in the starting line up and even on the bench.
So what can we expect if it does happen?  Probably to compete with the Argentinians for the wooden spoon.   Lets hope that Meyer changes the squad after the Argentinian games.

One question SafeSex

You are entiltled to get upset if you believe these are not the players to play in the RC.

And fair enough, that is your opinion.

My question is:

Will you retract your insults to Meyer on here, should he beat Aus or NZ  and admit that he was right and you were wrong

My problem is that if we start with the team that played against the Welsh in June - we can kiss out chances against the AB's and the Wallavies good-bye.

Cloudy, we have no chance......Oz are on the up, we are on the slide thanks to an ignorant coach, who cant select and wants us to play unimaginative out of touch rugby.

Oh what it is to be a Bok supporter.......its a frustrating past time

Perth aka mini South Africa...Look, for all our youth and experience at Meyer's disposal, we had 4 very under performing super rugby sides this year.. We select these players and what is to say they are going to be world beaters in a much tougher competition?
I can see the frustrations from some posters here but at the end of the day, we have less "depth" than some of you think and that was evident in Super rugby this year..Meyer has had to select guys that have proven they can foot it with the Australasian's.. You throw JJ, Serfontein, Faf De Klerk and those types out there against these guys and we is gona change from when the Bulls, Lions, Cheetahs and Stormers went 0 from 16 in Australasia this year??
We should really reserve our judgements until the competition is underway because as it stands, Meyer selections can not be any different..It would be a travesty if JJ and co were instrumental in the Bulls winning 75% of the games on tour but they were not!

From what I have heard Meyer plans on bringing the oldies through to the next WC, been their done that. I think it is true SA don't have the depth some think they do, Super Rugby this year proved it. TBH I don't even care if Abs lose to SA this year, always hate it when Abs lose to anyone, but if we have to lose to anyone I rather it would be Boks, only if smash the Aussies, they are getting confidence and arrogance back, so its a perfect time to bring them back down to earth . The reality is if SA young talent were ready to make the step up like Retilluck has at test level, particularly in the locks, Meyer woulden't be bringing the oldies back. Looking at your stock

Locks: Estebeth, Du Toit, Lewis, De Jager, Matfeild, Bakkies Botha.

Estebeth is your #1 Lock no doubt about it, Du Toit, Lewis, and De Jager too Green IMO (Have they even got 1 cap under their belt?). So only choice is Matfeild and Botha.

4. Estebeth 5. Matfeild

Loosies: Alberts, Coetzee, Louw, Vermulen, Mohje (Who the heck is he?)

Based on this I am guessing 6. Louw 7. Coetzee 8. Vermuluen

Props: Jannie Du Pleesi, Frans Malherbe, The Beast, Nyakene, Steenkamp.

The beast is your best prop IMO, Frans is too green so I am guessing Jannie on the other side. Nyakene and Steenkamp as backups.

1. Tendai 3. Jannie

Hookers: Bismark, Britz, Strauss

Bismark is clearly your best hooker, best in the world arguably. Strauss is the backup. Britz is just hanging around.

2. Bismark

Scrumhalves: Houggard, Pienaar, Reinach.

I am guessing based on these selections, Piennaar or Houggard well be starting, Reinach based on form should be starting 9. But too green.

9. Peinaar

Flyhalves: Lambie, Pollard.

I would pick Pollard, but way too green. Lambie is clearly the man for the job.

10. Lambie

Centres: De Allende, De Villiars, Serfointain.

What happened to JJ? Punished for that miss tackle on Barratt? haha. Wheres De Jongh?

12. De Villiars 13. Serfointain

Wings: Mvovo, Habana.

Well

11. Mvovo 14. Habana

Fullbacks: Le Roux

15. Le Roux

No surprises, Meyer can pick from outside SA, so he is allowed to make these selections.

Crap 3ku SA has more youthful depth than ever at the moment, the fact that we were so piss poor in the S15 has nothing to do with the players and plenty to do with the coaches who seem incapable of working out what constitutes a good rugby side or how to direct them in the art of play........this same sickness applies to our useless national coach.

SA is stuck in a conservative time warp run and coached by a bunch of conservative twats

They only needed to watch the S15 final to work out how the game is meant to be played and how sides are meant to be selected.......something our useless lot can even get 50% right.

If I was in charge, I'd sack the lot of them, bar possibly Jake White, who is marginal but still very disappointing.

In SA its all about heading for traffic and stifling natural flair - hell we have Morne at 10 what more could we ask for??

Mate obviously there are a few players who were very unlucky not to get the call up to the squad which is unfortunate, players like Tomas du Toit, Warren Whitely, Nizaam Carr and others. What sort of impact will it have on the boks without those talented players involved? I think it could result in a critical moment for t he boks once again in the RC. I'm also depressed about the squad.

Jerome, essentially a good squad with a few unlucky players to miss out, but the coach knows what he wants from his players. We need to win NZ at least once to show progress from lsast year.  I am still hopeful, but not too optimistic.

Snapster Bobok is one of the most decent okes you will find on a rugby board. If he is despised on kamps then it would not be a surprise to me.
Our depth is incredible only its overseas in increasing numbers. This messes up our Super 15 sides and makes life more difficult to assess players as they do not play in a comp as tough as the Super 15. ou cerundunce windpomp will have to explain how the top three ranked nations in the world cant have a tournament that is better than that of the NH.He will try of course and try to prove back is white and go round in circles and end up confusing himself completely as usual.
Actually it would be nice to see the top 10 Super 15 sides playing the top ten NH teams.

For dear ol'Snapster...good advice.

Sometimes emotions get the best of us and we end up snapping at people around us only to realize, not too long after, that we were wrong, so in order to avoid that guilt that comes with rage here are 7 ways to reduce your anger. Anger is often a response to feelings of unhappiness or discomfort that arise from unpleasant circumstances. Sometimes that anger amplifies and affects the people around us in an unfair way. The only way to avoid spreading the negativity onto others is to learn ways to reduce your anger and control your emotions.

1. Think before You Speak

How many times have you hurt the people around you by snapping at them on impulse? You probably didn’t mean to and didn’t even want to, but your mouth got you into trouble. So if you find yourself in situations in which your mind lags behind your mouth, try to refrain from blurting out things that you would have to fix later on and think about the consequences beforehand. This trick will help you down the road and save you from explaining yourself to others. It’s one of the ways to reduce your anger and the anger of those around you.

2. Remove Yourself from the Situation

If you feel like there is no possible way you can hold in your feelings, the best thing to do would be to remove yourself from the situation. That means walking away and moving on with your day until you are ready to face the situation again in a calm manner. This way your problem won’t escalate and you won’t have to waste your energy on inconsequential things.

3. Think Your Responses through

There are many alternative ways to approach your temper and the anger-inciting situation. Think every possible solution through. You can either tell that person everything that is on your mind without holding back, let them know how you feel in a less intense manner, or just learn how to deal with it by yourself. Make sure that the response you choose is the best for you and has the least detrimental consequence.

4. Choose Your Battles

The only way you can keep your temper to a minimum is by picking your battles. If you tend to get outraged by the smallest things on a daily basis, you will get into a habit of uncontrollable anger, which is why it is important to let go of the battles that are not worth it. Knowing when to stop and when to work on a problem is more crucial than you realize. As you learn to focus on more serious problems and
5. Exercise

If you want to work on your long-term anger management, studies have shown that exercise can reduce anger. Of course, riding a bike or hitting the gym will not dramatically change you into a mellow person, but it will help you control your emotions and mood swings. If you know you will enter a situation that will more than likely make you angry, go for a run first because you will not only get time to think about your situation but by the end of your exercise you will have a firmer hold on your feelings.

let go of the superficial annoyances, you will become less irritable and attract more positivity.

6. Try to Find Humour

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade, right? Although this line is now way too commonplace and overused, there is truth to it. The only way you can be okay with your situation is by shining some light on it and approaching it with humor. You are in charge of your interpretation and the more positivity you bring to your mind, the less space there would be for negative thoughts. So before you blow up on your loved one, try to find humor in the situation and you won’t realize that you have already let go of your anger.

7. Take Time out

I have to admit that some situations give rise to so much animosity that we often need more than a moment to deal with our feelings. And there is nothing wrong with taking time for yourself to think about what you are feeling. So if you are in a moment of distress and confusion, do what makes you happy. For example take a walk in a park with your dog, submerge your mind in a book or dedicate some time toward crafting. The more preoccupied your mind is with other things, the more insignificant your anger will become.

Although it is often healthy to express your emotions to others, sometimes it doesn’t work in your favor. How many times can you really snap at others until it is no longer okay? If you have trying to limit your anger, hopefully these tips will help you control your actions. How do you deal with your anger? Share your suggestions in the comments.

Rough is not tough or manly or strong...working class mentality...my late mother used to say there is nothing worse than "new money" or nouveau riche as they refer to the mega rich oligarchs in my wifes country. Manners maketh a man and rough, uncouth, uncultured behaviour is not manly but ugly and stereotyped amongst Hollywoods vile monguls and other thugs of the capitalistic hierachy. Stereotyped and sheep like, lacking real courage, valour, daring, initiative, discipline and morality. First class hypocrisy as well.

You don't have to have wealth to be well bred and a gentleman, you don't have to be rough, foul mouthed and uncouth to be tough and strong and character comes from discipline, self control and consideration of others before self.

The whole world is in disarray and lost it entirely...men have gone awol and women are scornful and totally confused.

Seb: personally I don't worry about the way Saffex expresses himself - it's part of his "persona" & if he did it differently I would think he was a mole,  lol
On what it takes to be tough (not referring to Saffex) I get sick of the stereotypical tough guy. My experience is the tragic events that we all have to deal with in life determines if we are "tough" or not. There is a lot of fun to be had but I get your point on the "tough guy" thing. Most often they are insecure shallow wimps.
This board has a great mix of characters. If we were all the same it would get boring real fast.
