Mapimping It Up or Mapoepal?

This guy seems to be like marmite you either love him or hate him but on the world rugby website he has the most clean breaks of all the south africans (only bok in top 20 in the competition) and is the leading Bok try scorer. Is he underrappreciated or does he really suck? I think none of the Bok wings are the complete package so there is no clear cut Habana in the wings (excuse the pun) to save the team. Do the wings get as much of an opportunity to impact the game? Looks like living off scraps so maybe any one of these wings can make it if given a good opportunity to strut their stuff. i think this is the best class of wings you guys have had in a really long time.

clearly most of the quota players (i make assumptions here) (except kolisi and beast) are pretty average forwards but the indigenous african boys are super quick.. cannot you just get around quotas by stacking the wings?

seriously that reserve bench front row is not even super rugby standard... surely there is more to gain from winning and putting best team on the field than ticking boxes for ANC?

Denny you cant be serious that bok bench front row is best you have in the country that invented biltong...? I think you'd probably have 15+ beefy front rowers from the highveld that would do better...

Incidentally the Reds got a couple of twin brothers the Smits this year... can only see these boys getting better too... funny thing is that they started a biltong business... lol  

How everyone on the planet doesn't like biltong, is very strange.

Unfortunately, we opted out of some of our smarter backs doubled down on DDA and co, who've been killing our back line 2014.

When Frans come off the bench on Saturday, hopefully it'll be to 10, with Pollard shifting to 12.

Mapoepol has a lot of pace but that's where it ends.

As is the case with all the quotas in our country, he isn't able to created anything on his own. He needs someone to lead him by the nose.

He sucks under the high ball, doesn't look for work off the ball, has a very poor tackle technique, no boot whatsoever and relies totally on handouts (being passed the ball) to do his thing.

Nkosi in my opinion is vastly superior in every way. I don't get why Mapoepol is favoured over him.

He and Gelant are both at 5 - all of Gelant's against Namibia, 4 of Mapimpi's against Namibia. I wouldn't read too much into that.

Personally I rate Nkosi higher than Mapimpi. With Nkosi you always get the sense something might happen even when he is surrounded by defense. With Mapimpi you can be pretty sure nothing is going to happen if he doesn't have space. His elementary defensive blunder against Reece bears repeating and as CC says, his high ball work is ordinary .

So as a rugby fan I think Kohlbe is the most exciting player in this whole tournament... I dont think any player from any team has yet to show his excitement... (maybe Kerevi down the line bumping off players akin to Jonah (RIP)...)

As I dont really understand quota rules... Is KOhlbe quota inclusive or exclusive? Surely Elton Jantjies must be quota...? he's a poorer version of Quade Cooper...
