Probably our best opensider by a country mile, I don't care about those who think Kolisi is our best Loose Forwards when he clearly is not and only has patches and never been consistent. To my mind, he should be at least on the bench as he can cover all positions and have shaken of his injury woes. Really tough person and gets stuck in the loose. Would be the perfect replacement for Francious Louw that retired from rugby.

He should have been involved in the touring group this year but only got one capped and the dropped like a ton of bricks. Probably made wee Kwagga and Kolisi look bad.

Anyway, it is a strange arrangement between the Bulls and the Japanese club. He will be playing in Japan from 18 Dec until 28 April. Very similar to what Am did. Will only be available to the Bulls at the start and end of the season.

Still a big loss for the business end of the season, but pushing 31, the guy has to cash in if he is not part of the bok plans.

This is why I dislike Rassie and co, they are so arrogant and think that a 60% win record is amazing while pandering to politicians and securing their own jobs and not truly looking after the players or the fans that pay to watch these games.

I'd like to think otherwise but because of those two the Boks will be lucky to win RWC2023 and have a nil to zero chance of winning RWC2027.

They've failed to grow the squad and they've also failed to improve their gameplan. I pity the new coach as he'll be starting from scratch.

Disagree Kolisi is better - he is a better linking and attacking 6 than Marcel Marcel is not really an open side his best position is 8. Marcel relies on physicality and high involvement Very good player who deserved far more test caps Kwagga is the ideal bench loosie as he brings a real attacking element to his game while punching way above his weight physically

These days Coetzee looks like a player who still excels at lower levels of the game.
When he has played for the Boks he has been very unconvincing.
I would take Kolisi over Coetzee.

When Coetzee first started out, he was a star player at test level - but he has not been anywhere near as good at test level.

This chump has had a lot of bites at the apple and always failed. Worse than Kolisi... supposed to be great defender but total balls actually. The ONLY great opensuder is Kwagga... period. Another dude the losers didn't really want to give credit... seeing a pattern here... loser yarpies love losers and want them to have a free pass. Fookin' weak!

What I don't get is why select Fourie, 35 and give him caps off the bench. They claim he is there to cover hooker but he hasn't played there for 10 years and was reluctant to do so for the Stormers when all of their hookers got injured.

Lets call a spade a spade. Coetzee should be in the mix and not Fourie

The only reason Foutie is being selected must be as a result of family ties and for no other reason.

How can the powers that be justify ignoring one or other young players for Fourie.

Amatures at best in the main office.

AJH, I still think he is part of the Rassie Cadre, way back when Rassie was Director of Rugby at the Stormers. Schalc Brits, Reynard Elstadt etc all seem to find their way into the squad even they are either too old or we never see them actually play. Sucks to be you if did play for the stormers back in 2013

Fourie was one of the form opensides in the URC...was playing out of his skin and still is. IMO he is more deserving of his place than Fransie and some others...he can play the role Britz/Flo did in 2019...I  also want Roos, Wiese and Louw in the mix, but xp counts a lot too and Deon has been around...was on the bench in the S14 Soweto final back in 2010 already...Fourie might be lucky to be there, but let's not pretend his not good enough or doesn't deserve it...in a fair world he should probably have played 50 plus tests for the Bokke.

Draad, you are right that Fourie was and exceptional opensider for the stormers, but who would you invest in rather. A 35 or a 22 year old.

Disagree that Marcel did not convince at test level, he has always been solid and that is to be expected and applies to all fringe players that get the odd start here and there or mostly off the bench. We see the same from the likes of Jessie Kriel, Esterhuizen, Jantjies, Reinach, the du Preez twins, Elrigh Louw etc The same applies to Wiese and Kwagga, when they both started they made no impression at all. But with game time and investment these players settle and start making an impression The likes of Marcel and co are not afforded this luxury so we can’t expect them to shine at test level

Wiese and zkwagga made IMMEDIATE impacts you lying gimp. Kriel has done NOTHING at test level. What have the twin done? Marcel is useless! Wake up and get your crap sorted Bilbo.
