Watching his game against the reds, he looked more like an inside center than a loose forward.

Ok perhaps he is the Super15 top form loose forward- this year but some of his runs, and offloads would make Sunny Bill Williams jealous.

His eye for the gap is tremendous. His timing of runs onto the ball and angles of running are exceptional.

He runs like a play maker as he has so much awareness of all the player around him drawing tacklers, or just sidestepping them.

He has some of the Bob Skinstand type of rugby skills- of the skillful back with the forward power.

I would like to see some moves for the boks with him included in backline moves of rucks or short lineouts. Amazing player with a great Future!

I am going to make a statement - that could be contested.  At his age Coetzee is ten times the player McCaw was when he was a similar age.   I think he is the highest rated loosie in World Rugby today and he would get better as he gains more experience - after all he is only 20.   His off-loads in tackle situations are brilliant - I remarked as much in a recent comments on the guy.   He is also speedy - which McCaw never really was - and he is very strong.    One of the best players I have seen for a very long time.   No wonder he is a Sharks player!!!!!

Nice thinking outside the box Sharkbok. I fully agree Marcell could make a brilliant inside centre who would do serious damage.

However, if Marcell had been a center they would have moved him to loose forward. This is what these mongs do.  Moving him to center now is way beyond their conceptual ability.

Now, now Mike no chest beating especially just before meeting you doom at fortress Newlands!

Come now Moonbeam - you changed your avatar - I suppose for the game on Saturday.  You may yet get slapped down a piece or two for that one.   Deep down I feel the Stormrs will win - but that is sstill to be proven in fact

Not a bad idea, just depends on his pace though, he is quick but can he keep up with the backs or out pace a winger when he makes a break.

That said, I think he is just they type of Loose forward we have been missing and I just wished the rest of our loosies can take a page out of his book. I like the fact that he doesn't just barge into players like Potgieter who only know how to run straight and bash into players. His interplay with backs has been exceptional and thats what you want from your loose forwards.

He can still play a similar roles as Bobby by popping up in the midfield to create holes and offloads for the players around him.

Can't wait to see him and Kolisi play together. With Kolisis pace and running angles and with Coetzee ball skills, the future is looking bright in the loose forward department.

Come now gentlemen - get your facts straight.   Marcel Coetzee is a brilliant center - just saw him score as a center.   You should have seen running virtually the whole length of the field - brilliant speed.   Marcel plays for Martitzburg  College and scored brilliantly against Affies.   Which Marcel do you want at center?

Moonbeam the light bringer!! Now Now Mike you are very uppity today but there is hope as you deep down know we shall win.

We are of coure referring to marcell Coetzze the sahks and Boks number 6. what does he lack apart from some experience? He is fast enough for inside center. He would I reckon beat Frans Steyn.

hahaha beeno we all know you just dont like franna steyn. i can recall you calling him a fat boy at serveral stages

marcell is great but his skill set is just well coached and brought into a game plan that amplfies player skills. if he was at the stormers of bulls then i would not be so sure he could have been so well rounded at this early age
