I’ve changed my mind on this guy, he is good. I used to see him as a bit of dumb muscle but he is a turnover king and brings plenty of power to his game

Rassie rated him from the very outset, as have other coaches.
His test for the Boks was a bad game, but he is improving.

Dave

This guy has the potential to replace Louw in the Springbok squad.    I looked at the 2 matches he came from the bench for the Springboks and  he was nothing special in those two games, but that was not a good basis to assess  his potential.

When against strong opponents, he looks ponderous. When play speeds up he looks lost.

It is the curry cup, I wouldn't get ahead of myself. he is decent but we don't know if he'll have the same impact against stronger teams

He is down the pecking order but my point here is that he is better than I first thought I have changed my opinion of him is the point of my post Kolisi is my first choice by some distance, not a turnover king but great strength and our best open side attacker. Big fan of Jaco Kriel but it’s been a while since we have seen him on fire. Kwagga has been brilliant at Super level but failed to replicate that at test level but needs more time at test level We have some class young opensides coming through in James Venter, Dylan Richardson, Buthelezi and Xaba Have always rated Carr but only as an attacking openside, never been an 8. Now add Marko v Staaden to the equation We have this kind of depth in every position
