Marto had a bet on the MMM radio show with an ABS fan ,the fan would take up Aussie citizenship if the ABS lost .
Now Marto has to stand on the side of the road in rush hour traffic wearing an ABS jumper singing Dave Dobbins "slice of heaven " ,Dobbins gave him a few pointers on Friday and fair enough Marto is being a good sport about it .Hope its on you-tube !
The only problem I ever had with Marto is his pissing and moaning about the Haka but since he organized a charity rugger legends game to help CH-CH after the quakes I can forgive him that .
Redsman should take a leaf out of his book ,no one begrudges some one backing up and barracking for their team but to be constantly dribbling on about the ABS and their fans and sucking up to the Bok fans is disgraceful to say the least .
Yesterday was Long Tan Day , RSL for me a few quiet beers and yarning with other ex Diggers and the odd Kiwi .My RSM at Healesville was at Long Tan and he quietly drove home to us how important that ANZAC spirit was to their survival [ 105 Aussies ,3 kiwi Forward Artillery Observers and NZ artillery support vs 2000 VC/NVA]at the end the VC/NVA left behind 250 dead [ at least another 500+ dead VC/NVA were dragged away during the battle } When the shit starts flying like that old rivalries on sporting fields etc count for Zero.
We may take the piss outta each other as has always been the Aussie / Kiwi way for yonks but some gits like reds-neck think that flinging vile crap around before a ball has even been kicked is the done thing is just baffling , most especialy his disparaging remarks about Rugby in OZ and even calling his own team the "Wobs" ???? Aussie rugby greats like the Mighty John Eales would be disgusted.
Oh and well done Boks ,damn I realy expected better from the Pumas !
