Is Marx gonna dominate for the next ten years?

If so, is he a shoe-in for best Bok hooker ever? 

Possibly a top ten all time Bok too?

Plum, if he really is good enough, we will think so...best whatever yet is always subjective, but he is a brilliant player with lots of potential to unlock still. We are blessed with forwards. Backline pansies is a problem from 11 right through to 15.

To qualify as the best, he would need to dominate others in every aspect.

Having said that, his weakness is his line out put in.

We often see him missing his jumpers which can be rather costly.

If I had to select between him and Bismarck in his prime, I'd go for Bismarck.

The toughest of all hookers in SA was Uli Schmidt and then Piston Van Wyk...another breed of rugby strength and power and hardiness that is rare today. Internationally I would rate Keith Wood from Eireland and Sean Fitzpatrick too...just another class.

I thought same and then this past weekend they were talking about how accurate his throw s have become.

Just speculating. If he continues to go as he is, and potentially improve at a normal rate.

Plum with respect throwing a ball straight is a prerequisite of any hooker, a school, club, franchise or international. The harder work is in the engine. Marx, is a strong man, so is Bismarck but I feel not quite complete. It's a very simple act. A hooker to be great has to be both a master of all trades and no jacks at all, if you get my drift, he's a keyman in a side apart from the 10..every player has a part , of course but priority parts, there's nothing more important. You can list all of them, but the hooker and flyhalf are the keys. Every body's important but these are the code to unlocking the potential of every one else.

South Africa had some great hookers over the years, Malcolm is one of them. Great player! Best ever? NOT! There are no such things as best players ever.

It goes beyond that. The key players are the so-called spine of the team, ie 2,8,9,10 and 15. 

Marx is also good in open play. I struggle to think of another hooker, maybe Akker, that is as good all round the park.

Maybe you guys can help me list the hookers since re-admission.

Marx is a fantastic player, but as mentioned, his line-out throwing is a problem. That is one of the primary roles of a hooker. How can he even be in the discussion, if his line-out put ins are no better than a 5/10? He has had this issue since he burst onto the scene, and he has still not managed to sort it out. Could he eventually be the GOAT? Absolutely, but not with this fatal flaw hanging around his neck.
