The Ozzies were having a field day at the breakdown, which resembled an eat as much as you can buffet.

Marx is needed at the breakdown from the start of the match.
As he enters the game in the 2nd half, there is a noticeable improvement in the Bok forwards. He needs to start the match and set the tempo.

Duane Vermeulen is not yet in form, and his impact at the breakdown in turnovers and ball retention is not where it should be. As with every old player, each injury means they have to prove they are still at the highest level.

Given Kolisi is not a fetcher, at least Marx or Vermeulen are needed at the breakdown, especially in fast high-tempo multi-phase play matches like the 4 nations.

Kwagga has been the most physical and consistently disruptive Bok at the breakdown. He has also been one of maybe three effective carriers. After Kwagga, Marx is definitely a must. He actually makes an impact. We could use Frans as well. Shame about van Rensburg's absence, as he hit the rucks in a way no Bok has since Bakkies. It was unreal how easy he made it look. The Boks are generally tidy with the ball control game, but fitness is an issue. Wiese is another one who has been present at the breakdown, as well as Etzebeth (two in the last test).

I don't rate Kwagga at all.
He's never made the step up to big boy rugby.
Kolisi is hurting Bok rugby big time. He should do the right thing and retire from test rugby.
Besides ... your quota captain can be found loitering in the backline instead of doing his job at the breakdown.
He really is a useless passenger.
The openside flank should play the fetcher role.
What other merit option do the Boks have at 6?
Is Kwagga really your best option there?
Surely not?
