There were some fears that it may be a groin injury - but the specialists now confirmed it was a hamstring injury that will keep him out of rugby for 6 weeks.

Under the circumstances  he will miss the Super Rugby games this month - ie rounds 14 and 15 - but is likely to be back for the final test against the English on 23 June 2018.

Well ... now we'll see who Rassie has in mind as cover.

Will it be a quota ... or will he look for a merit selection.

Akker vd Merwe would be my choice.

Pity about Marx. Was looking forward to a stout battle between him and Cowan-Dickie.

Akkers would be my choice aswell but it's improbable with quotas and maybe Strauss' current form.

I reckon it'll be Strauss and a quota or two. Strauss was an iffy selection , but with Marx out, the experience of Strauss will no doubt get him called up.
