Maties SMASHED 45-29 by NMMU

This has to be the biggest shock in varsity cup history.

The FNB NMMU Madibaz made a big statement in the opening round of the FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International by storming to a 45-29 victory over FNB Maties in Port Elizabeth.

The Madibaz have not lost at home since the 2012 season, and they were simply irresistible in front of a passionate crowd, although Maties did manage to salvage some pride with three late tries handing them a valuable bonus point.

I take it this is a PE side......UPE?
