Something for our kiwi friends Sitting bool, Hakwa and Brycy to contemplate. Ex Planer Rugby:

Hurricanes prop Ben May believes the Wellington-based outfit are better prepared than the last time they faced the table-topping Chiefs.

That Round 10 clash was an entertaining spectacle in Hamilton, which the home side won 33-14, but May feels the Hurricanes can win and score four tries against the Chiefs at Westpac Stadium on Saturday.

If they achieve their goal of notching a bonus-point win the Hurricanes will greatly enhance their chances of qualifying for the play-offs and although he's not overconfident May thinks their Round 16 win over the Crusaders will stand them in good stead against his former team-mates.

"The Chiefs are very physical," he told Fairfax Media. (By the soft nz standards oaks!)

"We know they will come hard, not just at the set piece, but at the breakdown.

"But I think we've upped our reputation in the physicality stakes.

"We really hooked into the Crusaders, so we'll be looking to win the battle up front.

"It was a real confidence booster to play a side like that [the Crusaders] and have so much not go our way and still win ... we looked at that match and didn't think we played to our full potential and we still won," added May.

The Hurricanes and Chiefs came off second-best to the Crusaders in the scrums in recent weeks but May believes the battle at the ruck area will prove more significant this weekend.

"Rucks are becoming another set piece almost," he revealed.

"If you can't get them right it doesn't really matter how good your set piece is either because rucks have become such a battle," he said.

"The boys are keen and we plan to throw everything at it.

"We need a five pointer to be fair, we can't just win, so we will come out ripping into it.

"There are two pretty potent back-lines, so that's where I'd say everyone will be looking to get the ball."

Best result would be a chiefs win without a bonus point and Stormers win with a bonus point. But looks like Chiefies may be going down? Hurricanes are going for a scalp!

I hope they win, but without the bonus point, else the Bulls and Sharks are seriously gonna have to pull finger this weekend. Especially the Sharks against their bogey team, the Cheetahs.

Beeno

Keep on dreaming - the Hurricanes are too poor to beat the non-warrior tribe.    Hope they lose and stop the latter from getting a bonus point.

Mike so the Hurricanes can beat the Crusties but its not possible for them to beat the chiefies at home  -doesn't seem logical to me.

Nope it is possible so we shall have to wait and see how it pans out.
