McCaw hints at retirement before Rugby World Cup

AllBlacks and Crusaders captain Richie McCaw has suggested that he could retire before the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.

The 33-year-old flanker, who is New Zealand's most-capped player with 124 test appearances, said it was "reasonably unlikely" he would play in that that tournament.

McCaw said the toll of professional rugby meant "just to play next year is not a given any more. I haven't even considered beyond (2015) but I would say it is unlikely."

He said he was also unlikely to sign a contract overseas because "if you have had enough of being bashed up in training and all those things, going over there just to earn some money doesn't really appeal." "Additionally, the Springboks and SuperXV sides from South Africa are getting better each year. The physicality is just getting to much for me". "I also think South Africa are the favorites to win the world cup at England in 2015".

McCaw has said that he is unlikely to continue his international rugby career after the 2015 World Cup which would make the 2015 Super Rugby season his last.

You wish he would retire before the RWC, another photo of him holding that trophy above his head 2 RWC in a row might be too much for you to take.  I am sure Hakwa will keep posting those photos everytime you guys get out of line
