I was particularly interested in the performance of McCaw in the game this morning and had a good hard look at his stats - since he was pretty much out of sight the whole game.

It reads as follows:-

McCaw0/000/3/71801008/00/010/0

This really was a poor for an opensider.   7 Ball carries making 18 meters (Carries gain per carry average 2,57 meters per carry - one defender beaten - 8 tackles made and 1 penalty given away - do not read like the statsitics of a top international opensider - for example Mtembu in the same game made 11 tackles missing 1 and Mtembu is not by any means an international opensider.  Another example is Robertson (Reds) making 15 tackles and missing 1.

I do not think that McCaw is really producing the goods anymore and I think it may be time for him to go overseas and try and make more pension money.

Actually stats dnt tell the whole story, i thought he made some telling carries and tackles, particularly when Saders were on the backfoot. But whatever its popular right now to jump on the kick mccaw when hes down bandwagon. He may not be in his prime, but stats show defensivly he made 22 tackles agsingst the Brumbies, and 18 againgst the Reds.

Always good to note the obsession of Bok posters when it comes to McCaw. Did he rile the wee bok fans up at some point? lol
Even when he retires he will be around to pass on his knowledge, leadership & skills. May end up coaching the mighty ABs one day. No you won't be rid of him anytime soon SA
