McCaw should face Boks - time for Boks fans to start worrying?

 All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster is confident captain Richie McCaw could return for their Rugby Championship finale against the Springboks.

Foster revealed to Newstalk ZB that it's promising the openside flank will recover from his current knee problem and be fit for the October 5 clash.

Meanwhile, fly-half Aaron Cruden could play a role for New Zealand in this Saturday's clash with Argentina after recovering from his own knee injury.

 I would like to see Bismaark clearning Mccaw out from the wrong side of the rucks.

I do not think they are particularly worried about McCaw - still a good player - bit not what he was two years ago and even one year ago. The sabbatical has not worn off and he was not as big a threat as he was previously. A bit o0verweight and definitely slower than he was last year. I think they are much more worried about Sam Cane than him.

Hakwa Bismarck is not really a dirty player - he is a hard player with very few disciplinary problems and has a clean record in that regard. I think what happened in Eden Park was an abuse by the referee and that was the reason why the red card was taken of his record by the IRB and he got off scot free from the disciplinary enquiry. He has never use spear tackling and tackling in the air - both very dangerous - and his tackling record has never included tackling without using of his arms - in other words he cannot be compared to players like Nonu and Retallick - who have both got a worse record than Bismnarck on that score. So there is no problem as to his selection. Meyer might put him on the bench this week and start with him net week - but there is no big difference here - they probably will get 40 minutes per game each - whether they start or come of the bench. Bismarck is better as an enforcer and ball recovering than Strauss - while the latter is a better ball carrier in looser formats of the game. They are very equal in performance evaluation and the two hookers are beyond any question the best hookers at present in world rugby. Maybe Meyer reckons that he would start with Strauss this week because of the Australian way of playing the game and next week with Bismarck because of what the All Blacks bring to the table - we will see what happens though - the Springbok side is sure to be announced today.

 

Yeah right  ... we're all terrified of facing the old man McCaw.

 

He might forget to tie his boot laces, trip over them and do himself an injury, and then we'll have Bismarck or whomever's nearest to him red carded.

 

I can see all the kiwi dears on this MB, like homowa, come a crying about the injustice of it all.
