The All Blacks are missing Mccaw- as Sam Kane cant cheat nearly as well. It also seems the referees are more vigilant with clinical stuff that slows down the momentum of the opposition.

I believe Trad had a comment on that:
One over has copy please seems we.
Translation: The powers that be could not let ABs keep winning at such a rate so they asked the refs to make the games more competitive.

McCaw always played a really questionable game iro penalties and for years he was not penalized by referees where other players would have been.   In 2014 and 2015 the referees lost their obsession and started to penalize him and he was not very good in that respect anymore.
The gqame the AB's play allow for giving away penalties tos top scoring of tries when in the red zone rather than give away tries - that also happened when McCaw was around.   That is where they give away penalties mostly - so that accounts for the high penalty count.   The referees should card them for negative play and give them more yellow cards.

All teams give away penalties to avoid tries.....it’s rugby’s equivalent of soccer’s professional foul. But it’s unclear whether McFlaw is especially inimical to fair play. What proof do you have for all those claims Mike.
