Hatu say who'll take it out this year, anyone got any brilliant ideas..??

No Kiwi horses this year so heart says have to go with the Kiwi jockey riding Voleuse de Coeurs...

Head says pick a stallion...

: Sea Moon, Royal Empire or Dandino maybe...

then again could box Seville, Brown Panther and Tres Blue...or Fawkner, Masked Marvel and Ibecenco... i give up..

Anyone having a flutter? Here's a link to the field.

Brycy

I am surprised that Chad Schofield got a ride - but he was the top apprentice jockey in Australia this year.  I am a very close friend of the Schofield family and I know young Chad from his birth onwards. Was at the wedding of his parents and for the time they were in SA spent every Christmas day with them - the only person outside of his immediate family to be invited.

Was at the last day Glenn Schofield road in SA and in the  box they used.   Asked young Chad for a tip and he gave me a horse h is father was not riding.   I won a R1000 and gave him R100 as a present.   A very nice kid.

They left in 2007 - went to visit them in 2008 and hope to go and see them again next year.   Normally tie my visit in with rugby tests.   Should have phoned the family and asked for a tip on the race.

Looks like he's riding Ruscello ...might be worth a crack good value at $41 also has won 6 and placed 7 times out of 19 starts...apparently it's never been harder to pick a winner so anyones guess... 50 kgs means he's the lightest of all the jockeys ....barrier 24 not so good though

Fiorente is favourite but how often does the favourite ever win? only paying $7 as well

jeebers warhammer, ur pick is a bit harsh, poor horsey.
not surprised to see the warpony clan do well though.

i love melbourne cup, public holiday is always good haps, but horse racing to me is like cricket, a major snore fest.
