Jannie is obsolete outside the scrums. Matfield needs to go and Strauss needs to start.

Along with many more calls that I have been making for ages.
That side will get beaten by England next week.
To think the Irish were missing a third of their side.

We're missing some players too Dave, be fair now. I'm sure Steph Du Toit would have been on the bench instead of Bakkies if he hadn't been injured this season. Same with Arno Botha and Schalk.

This loss is down to more than the geriatrix Saffex.

Bismarck conceding two attacking penalties.

Hougaard dropping two balls in attack.

Pollard not controlling territory, not finding space.

We played too wide and made too many unforced errors.

Not taking kicks to build the innings, but rather be arrogant enough to go for one maul after the other.

Then being outsmarted at the maul and not learning from it.

Jean de Villiers did nothing, apart from doing well in the line outs Matfield can't hit a hole in a wet paper bag.

Mohoje is useless.

Jannie and Beast was nowhere to be seen.

Cornal never saw the ball, neither did Habana.

It was an overall pathetic performance from an arrogant Bok team that won the line outs and scrums and then couldn't break the line once.

Serfontein was our most effective runner, he started a bit sloppy but he grew as the game went on and punched a few holes. Sadly that wasn't enough.

The worst on the park was Matfield who again got physically owned. But selections aside we were once again kicking possession away and we lack direction in many ways.
But you can't execute when you don't have the right players and why is a talented player like Serfontein now just seeking contact.......something Jean has also been doing the whole year.
It's time to move on from Jean, Jannie, Matfield, Bakkies and Schalk........Oupa is clearly not our best 7, why on earth did clueless Meyer think he was an option in the first place. He is a solid player but not the option to start for the Boks.
Meyer is a crap coach believe you me. Early exit from the WC is on the cards.
England's must be licking their lips and to think they are short of a good few

Shez we have injuries yes but my issue is with the current selections that have nothing to do with injuries.
Meyer gets 40% of his selections wrong. Something I have been saying for months

The thing is we have no one running off the ball carrier. You can punch as many holes as you want, if there's no one to keep the momentum going you're just going to go to ground, ball gets slowed down and you need to start building from scratch again. All game long it was individuals having a go, there was no team dynamic in our attacks.

Not to mention the fact that our centres attack contact and not space......there seemed to be little direction with plenty of lateral running, mindless kicking and contact seeking from most other that Willie

The geriatrics secured us 60% possession and 60% territory (roughly). We dominated the scrums. We dominated the lineouts.

And the half-backs were unable to control the match with that!

Troof and who won the breakdowns and collisions. Who played it smarter, who harassed more.
Blaming the half backs is insulting and smacks of ignorance. Oh and we never dominated the line outs

Tough one to accept guys, but perhaps you are putting the blame too much on your players and tactics ( or lack of tactics i.e  no plan B ) than giving more credit to an opposing  coach who today thoroughly out coached you and got his game plan correct. Just watched the game again, and you may have lost the game through slight arrogance ( instead of gaining 3 points, you went for the kicks near to the line hoping to score from that set piece ). You underestimated the strength and quality of defence of the the 6 nations champions who let is not forget, were seriously depleted in quality of certain 1st team players.  You will learn from this defeat and improve I am sure. Can see England turning you over by 20 points next week !!

I would like to thank Meyer for his calls as it has rewarded me handsomely.
Now if any of you Springbok supporters still think that the following players should still be representing SA Rugby you have our sympathy:
Jannie du Plessis,Victor "Stringbean" Matfield,Jean DeVilliers,Bakkies Botha,Pienaar,Hougaart,Beast, and a few others that are border players.
Willie le Roux has not delivered either.
Bismark du Plessis should not start a game as in each case he either gives away two to three scoring kicks plus the general one a game "Yellow Card" that he is know to claim.
Strauss should start plus he should be the Springbok Captain.
As of now I am searching for the best odds to place a bet that the Boks do not even make the quarters in WC15.

Shocking and disappointing result knowing and seeing the talent pool that "Doof" Meyer has to select from.
Old saying ....born thick die thick. Sure is true in the case of the Springbok managing team.

Unfortunately your knowledge of betting is only surpassed by your ignorance of rugby and 9594 posting in support of your stupidity.
I place bets in the Uk (Bolton) with Bookies that are not only British but also honest.
The last thing I would do is put a cent up against any second hand Yank.
Warthog take your money and attend English classes.

Winning set pieces although important is not enough. I agree with Fry that the scrummie is the most important player on the field. Also it is imperat ive to play intelligent rugby...kicking the ball must have thought and intelligence...like Henshaw long kick into the SA right corner (space) and followed very quickly, put Willie Le Roux under extreme pressure that his only recourse was to kick into touch...the planned lineout that ended in a well executed try for Ireland. The other chip kick that enabled Tommy Bowe to score a brilliant try was also with clever strategy and purpose.

Hougaard was slow hestitant and fumbling...Reinach was not much better, besides it was too late anyhow.

I've always noted that great sides have excellent no 9's, SA with Joost, Australia with Gregan and going back the Br Lions with Gareth Edwards...also when the Boks had an inform FDP, before his injury...all was well.

We need to have a scrummie that is quick and crisp and gets his passes away and feeds his backline...that's what Ireland did and even with new comers of Henshaw and Payne did well.

Hougie was poor and must be replaced first and foremost...that's where the first shift must start.

The problem is with the geriatrics - the poor buggers especially.
*   Matfield is the first on my list to go.   He is easy toi lift in line-outs, but a flop in Tight 5 play - get pshed out of mauls with ease.   The problem remains - we hav a serious deficiency in his case in the latter respect.
*    Bakkies Botha should go back to Toulon - maybe he would be of some use for his club - he is nowadays a low woirk rate player bringing nothing to the game.
*    Jannie du Plessis should retire from international rugby - he remains a liability on defense despite the good stats for Saturday -is worthless outside of scrumming and his scrumming statrted off badly and then improved.   But stikll not the player I would want in the team.
*    We have two centers at no 12 - none of them can really play at 13.   That is why they fail to contribute much to attacking play - yesterday most backline balls died with eother of the two.   Bad news that one.   I would still play DE Villiers and bring in Serfontein at halftime.  They should continue with De Allende at 13.
*    I would also change the loosies - move Coetzee to 7 and put Kriel in at 6.   Mohoje is too passive to my liking.
I would saythe following would be the ebtter team for Saturday with the players marked woith an astrisk being in becaue they are in the squad and should never have been:-
15   Willie l Roux14   JP Pietersen           *13  Damian de Allende12  Jean de Villiers11  Bryan Habana10  Handre Pollard9    Cobus Reinach8    Duane Vermeulen7    Marcel Coetzee6    Jaco Kriel5    Eben Etzebeth4    Lood de Jager3    Redelinghuys2    Adriaan Strauss1    Tndai Mtawarire
16   Bismarck du Plessis17   Trevor Nyakane18   Coenie Oosthuizen19   Victor Matfield           *20   Warren Whiteley21   Vermaak22   Johan Goosen23   Jan Serfontein
Irt is obvious that most of the players listed by you will npotbe good enough to make the WC squad and the sooner c hanges ar emade - the better.

I don't know what Jean and Victor are still doing in the team, Habana is also on his last legs as is JP.
Why go for the Line out when we just beat the Irish twice in a row in the scrum. Instead of going for the line out we should have gone for another scrum which could have led to a penalty try, yellow card or even good 8th man play of the back, but wait, oupa victor decides to go for the line out where the irish has stood firm all game.
These guys add absolutely no value to the team, no brains and no skill. I hope Meyer catches a wake-up on this tour. Rather now than later on.
Hougaard is not a scrummy, i think vermaak should start the next game, at least we will have a scrummy with a good service

Arfur you little chicken. You want to bet the Boks won't make the RWC quarters, I'm your man. Ill get a top London  lawyer to escrow the funds, not a hack like Dave. Two thousand pounds down now, eight thousand due at the start of the tournament. The two thousand forfeit to the other party  if the balance isn't forthcoming. Say the word and I'll set it up. But if you are just talking big on the internet just admit it.
