Meyer - 'I thought the better side won'

I have a lot of admiration for the SA coaching staff , how they have shown humility and been gracious in defeat.

Comments like "We we'rent good enough with even 15 men" from Meyer and " the ref is always right' speaks volumes about the man and pity a few more of the SA fans don't share his qualities reading some of these posts.

I prefer to focus on the positives like how good the Springbok lineout was and how players like Etzabeth shone. What a great talent.

The Springboks were looking very good towards the end of the game they were just hitting there strides with ball in hand if they could build on that type of play.

There was great enthusiasm displayed even in the face of adversity the Springboks never gave up. Lot of positives to come out of the game which should be the focus.

I was also admiring the Springbok jersey with the Canterbury logo. Who would have thought the Mighty Boks would have Kiwis on the front of there jersey. Had to laugh at that.

 Meyer is a very humble man. Hansan could learn alot from Meyer regarding post match interviews.

 Yes bok fans should listen to Meyer ,but wasnt it mere weeks ago they were all calling for his head ? And calling for their own team to lose because they thought them useless ? 

And what was wrong with what Hansen said post match ? Obviously you have no idea pine in Eire ,Mackenzie is the dude who needs to sht up and take it like a man .After the loss to England you heard no complaints from Hansen or the ABS now did you ? 

Winston Churchill once said that Mr. Attlee is a very modest man. Indeed he has a lot to be modest about. Ouch!

But all kidding aside, it is good when a coach puts on a humble face and shows good sportsmanship but don't be fooled, there is no way that you can be a top level competitor & have a team full of mongrel and a will not only to win but to dominate and destroy if this is how you really think. 

Meyer is behaving correctly and setting a good example & I admire him for it but this is not a reflection of his full character.

We have a few fantatics on here (ref thingy) but eventually we will change the subject.

Meyer is a good guy in my book & he is trying his best to restore Bok rugby to the top.

Allow me to calrify the confusion on this thread. Meyer is a humble man but should not allow humility to overrule truth. The simple facts are that  first try was no try and nobody saw the ball grounded. The abs were not celebrating either.

Next to play 50 minutes with 14 players and lose by 7 is remarkable. When the abs were down to 14 men the Boks got on top. When the wee abs  were down to 13 and we had 14 we only needed another 10 minutes to win the game as we were completely dominant.

The simple facts are that unless we complain about consistently getting the short end from officials when playing nz,we allow them to continue manipulating the situation. Bryce Lawrence was for me the final straw.

To their credit some kiwi bird brains have come somewhat clean on the issue but the moolas of the work and even the normally half sane hahahahahahakwa (pining for katie Holmes) have gone completely bonkers.

I see some nz oaks are now trying to persaude us the best hooker in the world is a liability as was the worlds best lock bakkies!!! Bwahahahahahahhahahaha the abs are running scared for sure. They cant handle physical rugby as we saw on Saturday. They looked a battered group by the end of the day. Messam must also understand he is playing rugby not auditioning for  Hollywood  - how comical was that incident. Hahahhahahahahahahahaha

I do hope all the fanatical ab supporters will change their mind, come clean and urge the NZRFU to come clean - clean up their act etc. The pong is overwhelming.

On eonly wonders what will happen to the ref and TMO. Bissie need have no fears re the hearing. The IRB needs to act and watch nz like a hawk. 

 It seems to me by reading all these kiwis posts that you kiwis are extremely insecure about this win. I suppose I can see why you would be. Dont worry boys one day you will actually beat the boks fair and square. Maybe not this year, maybe not next year, but Im sure it will happen some day.

i agree mike but meyer should have included himself and his coaching staff to the "not good enough" argument.

meyers game plan got caught out and the boks never looked like making any impression om the AB defence. they went out there in complete awhhhhh and did not even try to impose themselves. louw was absent and was once again outgunned on the deck by a much more mobile lose trio.

this game once again puts in perspective how rubbish the wallies was
