There are always serious reservations about Meyer's selections and some indications are that he wants changes and is planning a strategy for the WC:-
Players firmly in his plans are the following:-
Those Mozart will applaud adn Dave will burst an artery about:-
* Jean de Villiers
* Fourie du Preez
* Schalk Burger
* Francois Louw
* Victor Matfield
Those Dave will Applaud and Mozart will burst an artery about:-
* Damian de Allende
* Jan Sefontein
* Patrck lambie
* Cobus Reinach
* Marcel Coetzee
* Arno Botha
* Lappies Labuschagne
* Pieter-Steph du Toit
* Lood de Jager
* Frans Malherbe
* Marcell van der Merwe
Those who will find mmore or less universal acceptance:-
* Bryan Habana
* Willie le Roux
* Handre Pollard
* Duane Vermeulen
* Eben Etzebeth
* Tendai Mtawarire
* Bismarck du Plessis
* Francois Hougaard
* Adriaan Strauss
There are some players that if their present performances continue could find them in the squad as well:-
Mozart's aretry cases:-
* Johan Goosen - as thrd flyhalf - he played top rugby in France at present
* Trevor Nyakane
* Paul Willemse
Unless players like Willem Alberts and bakkies Botha start to play rugby and showed some energy in games - they are low work rate players - they will be tickets. Morne will not be in the squad and definitely not Francois Steyn. There are still gaps here and there - especially in respect of wings (2) and center (1).
Hendricks defense is not acceptable and that would mean another wing. It may be JP Pietersen - but he has a serious pace problem - so the players who cou;ld be on the sideines are Senatla, Van Wyk, Sithole and maybe JJ engelbrecht (as a wing). I am not going to make a guess here - just an indication of who were previously in the squad and other than Jordaan used.. De Jongh was previouly in the squad - but buggered up badly. Fourie and Steyn are both deficient in attacking play and have both pace problems. Jordaan may play himself into contention as well.
Another top candidate likely to be in the squad is Thoma du Toit - the prop of the Sharks.
