Jannie- absolutely useless. He is just a defensive liability. He blocks his own players from making tackles
Kirchner- worse than uselessKolbe or playing Jessie Kriel would be a much better option.
Beast- one run and he was done
Jessie Kriel- I am doubting if he has the experience to play at outside centre in the world cup. Both he and Mvovo were no where on defence.
Their was so much space on the left hand side a hedgehog could have scored.
Jean Devilliers- Is he fit, or just past it?
Lambie - at one stage I was thinking Morne Steyn should be on the pitch.
Ruan Pienaar- He is rarely seen at the base of rucks these days. He seems to be playing a in different game to the rest of the team.
Stephanie Dutoit -was slower than Alberts. Not sure if he is fit,.or even an option as a loose forward.
Once again the retention at the ruck was poor which has been a hallmark of Meyers worst games. It would have been better to have Brussouw on the bench as Stephanie was off the pace
Coenie - a charity service worker giving away penaltiesHe cant scrum so he not is a prop. He did not show any ball carries of significance.
Mvovo- Does he have a defensive game? The left hand side was a wide country garden to exposed at will.
Bismaark had one or two runs otherwise was a ghost.

Have to disagree. Jannie was fantastic in those last two scrums. Kirchner is a disaster as I have always said....we needed Willie in this fast witted game.
In the end Coenie with a string of penalties and a yellow sank the ship....Kriel's unbelievably weak tackle spiked the lifeboat.

Mozart
Are you crazy or not? The whole team was an abortion and if you do not realize it you are really as ignorant as Meyer is insofar as identifying of players is concerned.
The worst player by some distance was not Kirchner - it was Schalk Burger who buggered up every time he touched the ball. Matfield did bugger-all bar taking a few line-outs,
The problem remains the selection of players on reputation and not performance and whenever some of us said that, your reaction was to refer to the greats of the past.
By now you should realize that the greats of the past are no greats anymore.

Nonetheless nonetheless they scrummed well andCoenie was on his knees in a few scrums...so that scrum a man down on the line was a challenge.
I actually agree with SB. I thought Jean did good work on defence though. Kirchner, Mvovo, Lambie, Coenie, Bismarck, Louw and Stephanie we're all weak. Kirchner, picking Lambie over Pollard, and this nutty idea Stephanie is a flank....did us in.

i have been saying for the past 3 years meyers one dimensional game pattern lacked penetration and was easy to defend. under the new elv's ball in hand high ball possession attack based rugby is winning rugby.
suspect squad selection. piss poor ruck speed and pienaar, zane and lack of leadership fused with a rubbish game pattern is the part of the meyer cancer. louw was raped again at the breakdowns and we lacked brussouw....
the nz coached teams that focus on that areas will be licking there lips for us right now
its all down hill from there.

Meyers 2015 season so far is perhaps the worst ever in the professional era.
Australia- lostNZ- lostArgentina- lostJapan- lost.
Meyer has broken the record as the first bok coach to have lost against Japan and Argentina ever- and special mention for achieving both in the same season.
Who would want to be Meyer today.

Ducking and diving is a Mozart speciality. De Villiers is not an effective player anymore. Matfield is useless and he blames other players. The squad selection was a disaster from the word go. Meyer buggered up badly by selecting the worst team combination from that squad as well.
What all along was worse was the inclusion of players who have not played for months and when they did play - under-performed. I always said reputation-selection without performance is BS and that was proven again today.
Meyer made absolutely sure by picking the worst side imaginable from the disastrous squad he chose in the first instance.

your hitting it on the head mike....nothing meyer has decided has worked...the only ray of light we had was the first 60 mins against the aussies and the all blacks....only reason being that we embraced the ball in hand high ball possession attack based rugby.
in a sense i am happy that we lost now at least we can all see that the so called bok way of forwards only defence minded aimless kicking rugby is not the way we can even call ourselves a world beater.

Well done Japan, I don't know how the boks did not get the upper hand. The played Meyer's old style ruckby by shifting it a a forward with no support to bash it up. The Japs had 4 people around every ball carrier. They were quick out wide.
The boks should have just picked and drive the ball the whole time as those plays were the only plays that worked.
Absolutely no brains in that team.
Jean de Viliers does not deserve to be in the team.

Hang on folks we need the experience of the older players to win..........right!
Had to give it to Meyer......he was looking to heaven during the final minutes of the game for redemption.
But, none was forthcoming.
Wow, what a shocker.
The TV shot of Louw sitting flat on his butt after the final whistle pretty well sums up the game.
Out foxed, out played by a bunch of young guys and a well deserved victory to Japan.
BOK, BOK.

Bok posters on this site have been good sports about an historic loss. No one blamed the ref & all congratulated Japan & Eddie . Nice to see.

"you know zero about the role Du Toit are playing in the team."
I know that you made a boo-boo when you called Schalk the flyhalf, but not Steph, for doing exactly the same thing!
Here's a little reminder:
"the lead-up to the De Jager try against the Aussies is typical of the type of things Du Toit is capable of"
Since when does Steph typically chip the ball downfield?
"Du Toit is not a battering ram player he does various things on the field of play that none of Meyer's loosies could ever achieve"
Interesting, Coetzee and Steph were two of the players who played on the flanks for Meyer. You claimed Coetzee was world class in those years, better than Alberts. Were you wrong? Do you now admit that Steph was useless in under Meyer? This could be a rare moment of progress for you!
