The Stormers lack a formidable pack and have a lot of small backs. They don't look like serious challengers right now.

Stormers look fit and full of running.
Can they handle a top pack and top backline. Ti me will tell but this was a good win

One can see what that Kiwi advisor has done for the Stormers .   There off-loads in tackles were master class embodied by especially a player like Viljoen.   All the stormers did well and it is clear that the Stormers backline is something special.
Is SP Marais Springbok material?

SP  looks streets ahead of Willie, but he looked average at the Snarks and da Bools. Time will tell.

He was average at the Sharks and the Bulls - just think who the coaches were when he played for them.  His style never fitted in with what he has been given a free reign to do what he is doing  now.    As I said the Stormers backline has learnt a lot from their Kiwi advisor.

Andries Coetzee has looked good as well. Don't know how Willie is playing.
Ou Maaaaikie you are right. The kiwi coach has definitely taught them things that are in any event basic skills!
Frankly we need a kiwi backline coach at the sharks and  the Bulle. We could see a huge improvement.

Oh, were the wee stormers playing? I had some matters to attend to & will have to rely on Beeno's account of the game.
Reviewing this thread there is no mention of the opposition, glad the Cheetahs were mentioned in the title.

The scoreline indicates that the Cheetahs had some sought of financial arrangement with the wee stormers. We will have our resident financial genius Mozart check this out as he is probably the most familiar with these types of shenanigans.
I'll watch the replay later & give my cut & paste analysis - some bait for wee cc - let's see if he bites again. In the meantime I will watch the Mighty Chiefs game .

Cheaters will lose more yhan they win running everything at all cost. Stupid rugby by the Boks backline coach.

 Draad
The Stormers has a great center combination - the best in many years.     That gave them a massive advantage.   As a result they use the backline better than what they used to do in the past.
I think that is what was part of the difference.   The other part was their Tight 5 was not competitive enough.   I do not think it was running rugby alone that caused their loss.
The more I see of Kobus van Wyk the more I think he is a great loss to the Stormers.

Van Wyk might be a loss, but both Kolbe and Leyds are better, and we have Senatla too. Good thing he's getting game time at the snarks.

My problem with the Stormers wings are they are good in attacking play - but especially Leyds is a serious defense liability.   You will see on Saturday how the Chiefs handle the situation , but I think they will concentrate on him as a defensive liability,

...Bean Brain they're saying the Stormers played like a NZ team this week...so obviously the game was rigged, yr team played netball ,cheated and had a bent ref in their pocket haha... congrats albeit not much of an achievement anyway given the circumstances..

The Stormers has appointed a Kiwi consultant and he makes a huge difference to their style of play.   The situation is that if the Chiefs plays like they did today - the Stormers will be the favourites in the game next week.
