Can you imagine the big fish stories the Oom would tell. A six inch catfish, would become a powerful predator fish.
Truth to tell though, I try to avoid killing things in my dotage. I used to be an avid fisherman. No longer. Hell I don't even kil spiders unless they look dangerous, and we do have some lethal Brown Recluse spiders around. Even then we recently trapped and released one of these chaps.
What gives? Well life is such a magnificent gift, in an otherwise vast lifeless universe....I can no longer bring myself to end it voluntarily.

 I find that things like snakes [ we had 2 venomous snakes in the house last Xmas ] that I would have killed out of hand as a young bloke I now go to great lengths to remove safely .Maybe life does seem more of a gift when you get old enough to appreciate it .Fishing is still good especially with yer kiddlies , catch and release is the go .Would rather take pics of the wildlife than shoot 'em too ,and I used to do a lot of hunting as a young fella .

Wardad as young chaps we would probably have seen all this as sentimental twaddle, but perspectives change.  

 Yes not all gods critters are worth saving Cloudy ! And true Mozart my younger self was a bit thoughtless on these things , old geezer talk I would have said in all probability .I still wouldnt let mikey near you with anything sharper than a spoon tho'!
