Did you know that Jeff suffered a severe stroke last year? Was told that he'd never ride again. Well, he's defied the odds and won the G1 Magic Millions $2m race last Saturday after drawing the car park(24).
Not bad for a 55 year old huh?
OBTW the horse will be running in the G1 golden Slipper, the richest 2yr race in the world.....guess who'll be riding her
And....she'll win! Don't tell everyone.

I think Mike might have his hands full with the fires in his area.

I phoned a while ago and asked Kerry Roberts - his mother-in-law about the stroke and she indicated that it was not severe - but that he is better.   Was surprised about him riding again though.

Maaik, I heard there were some fires blazing between Stilbaai and Riversdal. Was it close to town and what's the situation now?

It was one of the commentators who said he had suffered a severe stroke.
I've backed his mount to win the Golden Slipper. Get on it!

 Draad
There were two fires near Riversdale yesterday one near the main road N2 to the south of Riverdale and the other further north to the western side of the town.
It is becoming clear that the fires are being started deliberately by what is alleged ANC members and is politically inspired.   Some people in ANC T shirts have been seen starting fires.    This is wholesale sabotage and must be treated as such.

Thanks Mike, luckily we're not close to any veld, but the fires have been bad around here too...and the rain is more than 2 months ahead. Gonna be tough this year.

Ja Moz, the water is really running low. How long were you in town? I can't recal the weather back then, but I suppose it was a bit windy. Hope you had a nice stay.
