The Boks win a penalty, up 17 to 15. They kick out on the ABs 10 metres line. It should be the platform for the Boks to get a grip on the game. A stat flashes up saying the Boks have won 11 of 11 lineouts.....but for only the second time they go to Stephanie who allows his opponent to get ahead of him. The ABs have the ball. One or two phases McKenzie gets the ball....beating Louw on the outside. But Allende is in position to make the tackle. But he is totally beaten for pace as is Stephanie. Six minutes later Allende crshes into the NZ flyhalf 3 steps after he has kicked with an elbow to the head. .. Those were the crucial moments.

What about Dreyer giving away penalties at almost every crucial scrum? What about all the other stuff ups? McKenzie ran around the whole team. Singling out a couple of single events in a 90min match to pin the loss on a couple of players is a bit silly. I agree with you that this was our best chance in years, but trying to pin the spilled milk on a few players almost degrades the team effort...and a monumental effort it was too.

This is often the case Draad.....look at all the other stuff. Sure, the whole thing could have been different. But it’s highly likely if Stephanie could have just taken his lineout ball at minute 67 we would have won the match. The ability to deliver in the crunch marks the great players. Now read every report about the game and that lapse will never be mentioned. If it was a US sports team situation, or a British football team lapse it would have been called out. And the next time the player would have been motivated to perform......nonchalant fans make for losing franchise. . Perhaps this SArugby excerpt might help: .. ‘Considering that the Springboks enjoyed as much as 64% of possession and forced the All Blacks to make as many as 240 tackles at Newlands, they will look back on Saturday’s one-point loss as a real missed opportunity. Although such a competitive showing will virtually be viewed in as high regard as a win, the fact remains that the Boks dominated enough areas of the game to secure a memorable victory. Again, a couple of soft moments enabled New Zealand to strike on the counter-attack, while some poor decision-making cost the Boks dearly on attack at times. Going forward, the Boks desperately need to add a killer edge to their ambitious intent.‘

Much better performance from the Boks.
The bottom line really is Jantjies missed a sitter penalty earlier that could have been the winning three points needed to secure the victory.
Wonder if you guys watched and never picked that up.
The point is not one player is responsible for the loss but an accumulation of not scoring at every opportunity sure does not help.
THe try scored by McKenzie was a beauty and his speed is incredible......very impressed with his running display through and around the Boks.

Fat contribution once again, Farter. Noticeably it arrives after everyone has already posted on the subject so there's zero originality just bits and pieces of what everyone else has already said....
Try a leading post for once.....just once.

The turning point was in fact Louw's missed tackle on McKenzie just before he scored - you stupid moron.  Definitely not something that happened 9 minutes before.

Moz McKenzie was probably the fastest player on the field, you seem to be suggesting that Du Toit is some sort of failure because he got gassed by McKensie. He would have gassed every bok player on the field. I have just watched that try 5 times. Louw got caught wrong footed, but if he had made his tackle, PSDT would not have been scrambling to defend in the first place. I get what you are saying regarding the missed line-out take a little earlier, but I must say, y ou seem to be obsessing with PSDT, I don't even think you realise it. He had a very good game, sure it was not a perfect game, but tell me which player, other than Marx's once in a lifetime performance, from either side, had a perfect game?
Mike, if you have nothing to say...say nothing. This polluter line of yours has gotten very old, very fast.

If you see the psots started by Mozart you can bet on it that head of the list will be du Toit..   Then we have De Allende, Malherbe, Serfontein, Kriel (Jaco) and a few other players he hates,  I think the hatred of Du Toit started when he became a selection threat to Matfield - just like his hatred for Malherbe started when he threatened Jannie du Plessis and in the case of Kriel it was Louw.   In the case of Serfontein Mozart favoured Fat Fransie at center.
It has nothing to do with performance at all - it has everything to do with prejudice.

Well I have also looked at the try many times. What I see is Pollard being the only effective kick chaser and he was dodged by Kerr Barlow....if there was a line of chasers he would simply have been picked up by the next guy. The ball then passed to McKenzie who was already at pace. Again a forward like Louw was not going to easily make the tackle.....the next defender was Stephanie. .. But there was a huge gap there to run into....a gap that was closing with Allende from the inside/Stephanie from the outside. But rather than run towards McKenzie’s path, Stephanie back peddled to mark the next player and when he twigged that he was the tackler it was too late. He could have closed the gap if he reacted to the run.....it wasn’t a matter of pace it was a matter of judgement. .. He is not agile enough to play flank which is why he missed more tackles than any other forward in Super Rugby this year. I’m not sure why he gets his pocket picked in crucial lineouts. The same thing happened against Italy. I suspect he needs to move forward ...more towards the ball when he jumps. This should be fixable....and he should play lock.

Listen BSter - where was Louw in all that?    As per normal the situation wasmthe result of a BS kick - not anything to do with the line out you are sh!tting yourself about.    You should be happy about the klick that was made - snce you are all for kicking balls  and  not keeping balls in hand.
By the way - if Du Toit is not a loosie - what is Louw who ballsed up nearly everything he touched.

Let me help you....it had everything to do with the lineout. Stephanie being left empty handed again is the reason we were kicking out of our 22 and not playing phases in the NZ 22.

So that line out lost the test for the Springboks - not the subsequent sh!t kick that handed over possession to the AB's.   The line-out happened and  NINE minutes later the AB's scored a try.
You really are clueless and demented.

I think it is fair to say that we all agree PSDT is better suited to lock, but that is what makes his performance on Saturday good. He played well  in what is not his preferred position.

Are you as ignorant that you do not realize kicking out of 22 is a relieving kick whicxh MUST find touch making a quick throw-in impossible.    The kick leading to the try was BS and the lost line-out had nothing to do with the scoring of the McKenzie try.
You are as per normal devious  -  Du Toit was not the guy who missed the tackle on McKenzie - it was LOUW who missed the tackle.    Why even mention Du Toit in this case - he was not involved.
I am just going to ignore the lies you peddle on the site when it comes to certain players.  If you are mad enough to keep doing it you are welcome to be the lunatic.

Nope the lineout occurred and less than 2 minutes later the ABs score.......see you have missed the whole logic Tokkie. I guess that changes everything, the two incidents wrre closely linked. Be so kind as to apologize Plank. As for Stephanie’s defensive mistake, I’m not going to explain again....you will never get it.....much too subtle for you.

Bloo he had a good game, I gave him a high rating. But only once was he forced to deal with an open field tackling situation, the McKenzie try. And he made a crucial mistake. In other matches on the flank he will have to deal with the flankers’ responsibilities. In this game the scrums never set the table...they were messy. A few scrumhalf snipes off a dominant scrum would test the Stephanie as flank proposition. .. This experiment is going to fail. He will succeed or fail as a lock. Right now it’s a close contest between Mostert nd Stephanie.......Lomp did nothing on Saturday. But others may emerge, like the super powerful Paul Willemse. Stephanie has to improve his defence and he is too easily robbed of his lineout ball.....he has to fix those elements to be a certainty.. His play around the rucks and mauls is very good....pick and go’s and swimming through the maul.

The normal BS in buckets - truth is the prejudiced ape tried to find a reason to go for Du Toit - end of story.   He writes BS all the time and then tried to explain away something and he cannot ever be relied upon to be anything bar a liar.
What mistake did Louw make in the case of the McKenzie try BSter?    He missed a tackle.  if Du Toit was 20 meters away  the BSter will still blame him.

Mosterdt is a fine effort player, punching way above his weight, but he is simply too light for a top tier test lock. I'd rather play him at loosie than PSDT. He won't last long at lock against the top test sides.

P Du Toit should of never been played at 7. He was deficient in that role. I would of started Du Preez their. He was excellent when he came on. And he is at least a specialist backrower. Yes 67th minute was the turning point. But I just rewatched the game. The first half the Abs blew 3 tries. They could of easily been up by 21 points. As it was 8-3 HT. Was pretty tight up till 55th minute. Boks just scored twice. SBW was very deficient in all these phases. Particularly the Abs first five minute burst, when he dropped the ball.
And contributed significantly to Skudders injury. SBW been solid in the RC, but that was def is worst game of the comp. I felt the abs were just slightly better around the ball. And on defense. When the abs stole the line out. Then it led to a great run by Havili, then the Mckenzie try who just bedazzled Steph and co. Boks prob should of went on. But Abs showed their class. I felt Louwe was another deficient player for the boks. Their are always controversal decisions. I thought Crotty was a legit try, he had downward pressure, little control. But the rules determine, downward pressure is all that is needed. The Red Card. I think it was a fair penalty, and 3 points would of always happened. But I think Yellow card at best.
It was definately an improovement by the Boks. But they have to be wondering how they lost that one. And how abs had the game with 5 to go. Shows how great the abs are. I guess consistency is the issue for the Boks.

McKenzie bedazzled Du Toit - but did not do so iro Louw - who actually missed a tackle on him.    Then McKenzie is oe of the fastest players in the AB team and that is lost where Mozart attacked De Allende as being too slow.
The con-artist  has used the above as reason to attack Du Toit.   He is a useless prejudiced fart and cannot be relied upon to make any reliable postings,   Bad news \never to be believed.
The question in fact was who was the best looasie - both sides on Saturday,   It was not the AB  loosies, it was Du Toit who played out of his normal position.    The worst loosie on the fieldof play was in fact Louw - with Kolisi a shorthead behind him.
Wake up fool - you are getting more ridiculous by the minute.
